PIN wears the bushing from inside
IDLER WHEEL wears bushing from outside
• Bushing wears quickly• Breaking strength of the chain
in proportion to wear rate
• Longer lifetime for bushing• High breaking strength of the chain
maintains longer
DRIVE SPROCKET
wears bushing from the outside
PIN wears bushing from

Notched-link chains for rectancular tanks
HA200M HA205M HA44M• Chain for small to medium tanks
• Chain for medium to large tanks
• Drive chain • Chain for small tanks with
limited operation space

Drive wheel with adjustable pitch• The mutual distance of pins increases by
relocating them by the same number of slots towards A
• Perfect match between chain and wheel within operational lifetime
• Always several (4-5) pins pulling the chain• Minimizing the wear of the chain

Comparison of working load with NEW chains:Sprocket wheel with teeth driven chain Drive wheel with adjustable pitch for
Notched-link chain
• The workign load is divided between several pulling teeth/pins and chain links
Keeping up your process
Comparison of working load with USED chains:
• Entire work load pulled by one tooth mainly
• Other teeth have lost the pullign contact with the chain
• The pitch of the pulling pins have been adjusted perfectly to match with worn and elongated chain
• The workign load is divided between several pullign pins and cahin links

Attachment of scraper flight
Competing system Finnchain system
• Flight attached to the attachment link• High pulling line ->vibration • The wider tank, the higher flight
makes the problem worser
• Flight attached to the patented flight end connector
• Pulling line in the middle of the flight

Torsion test for scraper flight
Traditional system Finnchain system
• Flight type NLC-145• Open sigma profile• Torsion
• Flight type FC-190• Closed hollow profile • No torsion

Problem: Chain skippingSolution: Chain watch• If the system meets rapid and heavy increase of the
workload that jamms the movement of the system, normally the plastic chain lifts off from the pulling pin or sprocket’s teeth
• Without any safety devices the chain skipping could cause damages such as:• The flights do get misaligned and will drop off from the
return rails
• The chain can broke
• Flights and flight end connectors can broke
• Afterwards the system is a long time non-usable because of extensive and expensive repair

Problem: Chain skippingSolution: Chain watch• The chain watch is installed above sprocket and it
mechanically prevents chain skipping
• The movement of the lever on top of the chain activates the inductive switch at desired over load and stops the motor immediately, also alarm signal can be activated
• The chain watch stops the system before any damage can happend

Idler wheel
• Teethless, does not wear the chain
• Installation with retaining rings, easy to install and replace
• FC-1P/76 with 76,1 mm hub bore for small to medium tanks
• FC-1P/80 with 80mm hub bore from big tanks

Idler wheel shaft
• Can be installed/positioned close to the end wall turning
• Sludge can be collected away from the corners
• Axial adjustment to ease installation
Keeping up your process
Drive shaft
• Drive shaft is made of AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel
• Shaft diameter 80 mm

Drive shaft Bearing
• Self aligning bearing
• Self adjusting
• Water lubricated
• Long lifetime because of wide bearing area

Bottom rail
• Bottom rail FC-122, ease to install and replace
• Two types: smooth and with guiding track
• Connected to eachother with attachment piece
• Attachment piece is well anchored to tank floor
• Thermal expansion is allowed

Drive unit
• SEW-Eurodrive 0,18-0,55 kW, power depends on tank dimensions
• Integrated motor and gear box – one package
• Standard speed of system is 1,2 m/min
• Customized speed with inverter or specified gear box
