GRASP REFLEX-Involutary grasp reflex diappears at 2-3months

- Voluntary grasp reflex develop at 4th month

HAND REGARD-Hand regard is seen in babies between 3-5 months of age

- It occurs when a baby is seen lying supine, watching the movement of the hands.

- persistence beyond 5months = Abnormal

Mnemonic: In hand there are 5 fingers and persistence beyond 5months is abnormal

APPROACH AND GRASPS-Bidextrous approach ; approaching towards object by both hands = 4-5months

- unidextrous approach: approaching towards object by both hands= 5-6months

-Ulnar grasp : holding things with ulnar(medial) side of palm = 6-7months

- radial grasp : holding things with radial(lateral) side of palm = 7-9months

-Immature pincer grasp: partially holding pen between index and thumb = 9-10months

- mature pincer grasp: fully holding pen between index and thumb = 11-12 months
