WEEK 1 COACHES CORNER

Atlanta United Atlanta United had a GREAT first week! We had a full team and everyone participated and were patient while watching their friends play while waiting to go back on the field themselves. Listening to the ref’s whistle and stopping is REALLLLLLY hard when you just want to kick the ball. But, by the end of the game, they were doing it!!! It’s going to be fun watching these little guys play this season!

Columbus Crew What a great first game for the Fall Soccer season. All of the kids did great learning to manage and control the ball. Great teamwork and a fun time was had by all!

FC Dallas FC Dallas had a great first game of the season. Landon, Abigail, Noah, Tyler, Norah, Jacoby, and Mason led the charge offensively. Ava, Matthew, Reilly, Maire, Nico, and Valentina played very well defensively. I loved the hustle and all the smiles. We are looking forward to practice on Tuesday and having Cody join us next Sunday.

NE Revolution Great first game for the Revs. players were keeping the ball close to their feet and following instructions well. Nate and Violet were quick on their feet and scored goals right away. Addison and Myles were great defenders. Everyone had fun and look forward to 'painting the field' at practice.

Atlanta United: What a great first week of soccer! Despite having a low-key practice, everyone came out and played hard, not missing a beat. Liam kicked it off scoring our first goal of the season, as well as playing strong on defense. Diya and Reese, despite not playing soccer for a few seasons, came out strong, fighting for the ball and pushing it up the field. Giuliana, Tessa and Molly were aggressive in front of the net, attacking hard every opportunity and finding the back of the net. Overall, everyone put in 110% and we couldn’t be more proud of how they all played!

Columbus Crew: The first game of the season was a rousing success as we got to see our team playing on the field with the excitement and fervor beyond our expectations! Jayla and Joe were very quick on their feet while Emma and Brady played with purpose and direction. Coach Dave and I were proud to see the offensive consistency Ashley and Grant can give the team while Liam and Travis used their defensive skills to keep the opponent away from our goal. We missed Mason for the first half and Logan wasn't able to attend... However, I know this is going to be a thrilling season for the Columbus Crew and look forward to watching the kids score as much fun as possible! Thank you to the parents for the sideline support... we love hearing you cheer us on!

WEEK 1 COACHES CORNER

FC Dallas All of FC Dallas had a great time in the perfect soccer weather. And look forward to the rest of the season. The assistant coaches were proud of the sportsmanship of the team.

Houston Dynamo Houston Dynamo had a good start to the soccer season. Everyone on the team hustled and put forth great effort! Yunus S. and Mason P. played well in the defense position. Kyle P. Evan B. and Reagan D. had some great plays on offense!

Orlando SC What a great first game by all players against New York Red Bulls this past Sunday! We are very proud of each and every one of you! A few shout outs to a few that are first time players as well as those returning this year! Mason's first year playing, his foot work and understanding of the game excelled as the game progressed! Keep up the great work Mason! Anthony had an amazing 3 goals! Lilly had an assist as well as a goal to add! Awesome job you guys! I want to thank and congratulate New York Red Bulls for their wonderful sportsmanship! We had an injured player and they took a knee and cheered on the player as they walked off the field. Great job! We look forward to next week's game and to see even more amazing things to come by our Orlando City SC grade 1 coed players!

Portland Timbers The players showed a lot of enthusiasm for their first time on the field as a team. I look forward to the season to see them grow as a team and better learn the game.

Los Angeles FC The coaches were so proud of the effort put forth by the boys and girls of Los Angeles FC in week 1! The team played strong and went after every ball on the field. The teamwork really started to show in the second half as Sophia, Dalton and Dylan passed the ball in the offensive zone and Dylan was able to score in his first soccer game! Kyla showed some great effort as she got in on a breakaway late in the first half. Tyler and Andrew played tough defense throughout the game with Caitlin and Ben chasing down the loose balls. The team enjoyed their first game and we all look forward to another great effort next weekend! Great job LAFC!

Sporting Kansas City I AM SO PROUD OF THE WAY THE KIDS PLAYED TODAY, AFTER JUST ONE SHORT PRACTICE AND A FEW FIRST YEAR PLAYERS, THEY REALLY SHOWED A LOT OF POTENTIAL, GREAT JOB SPORTING KC.

Los Angeles FC The New york Red Bulls had a great season opening game. Noah started out the season with a beautiful goal assisted by Cooper. Sanaya followed suit scoring on a break away from a great pass from Lana . Myles had a beautiful save clearing out the ball just before it crossed over the goal line. Lots of scoring opportunities from different players. Great team effort!

WEEK 1 COACHES CORNER

Portland Timbers The Timbers had a great first game! Adrian and Lukas did a great job defending the goal while Miles, Destry, and Jaiden did an amazing job on offense. Kristian held down the goalie position with a huge amount of saves. We’re all excited for week two!

Atlanta United Fred stepped up to play goalie and was a natural. He attacked the ball and helped direct the team from the field. Dillion and Hamzeh played strong offense. Not only did each player score, but they protected the ball well. Sean G. "The Eggbeater" mixed it up on defense, keeping attacking players to the outside and breaking up plays.

FC Dallas Great play all around especially by first time goal keepers Alex and Gavin and Chris, Ayden, and Luka on offense!

North Carolina Courage Both teams played a great game and had the added challenge of playing in full size goals! They did a great job. Ashlynn and Kate were great in goal. Meghan had some excellent kicks on defense. Sadie, Hannah, and Isabelle were fast as can be on offense. Sarah Kate and Alaina provided extra hussle, playing both ends of the field. Great job by all the girls.

NE Revolution We had a great first game of the season!!! I love how enthusiastic everyone was to play and how nicely they cheered for their team while waiting to play. I can tell it’s going to be a great season and I’m excited to watch these boys learn and understand soccer even more.

WEEK 1 COACHES CORNER

Minnesota United Great hustle by the United. Goalies Tiny and Sawyer made big saves, our defense looked strong, and Jasdeep made a great goal for our team. We’ll get ‘em next week!

NE Revolution We had a difficult first game without any practice the week before, but I'm happy with the way everyone played, including Izaiah, Julian, John, and Lucas in net. Looking forward to our next game!

Sky Blue FC Good tough first game against North Carolina Courage. Awesome goal scored by Emma. Great goalie work by Ocean and Sam. Excellent defense and offense by Rilee, Lena, Gianna, Caitlin and Dabria. Good job for first time players Paige and Ishana!

Utah Royals Meeting our teammates at the first game is a challenge and it showed during the first quarter down by 3 goals at the half. But the Royals stayed in it, never quit and scored 5 goals to come back for a victory. Isla lead the way in the second half with 3 goals and really sparked the offense while the defense tightened up. A fun and competitive game by both teams!

North Carolina Courage The weather could not have been more perfect for our 1st soccer game. Despite the fact we were not able to hold our first practice due to rain earlier in the week the North Carolina Courage girls came ready to play Sunday, and wow did they play! The girls defeated Sky Blue FC in their first game. Erica and Lily were on fire scoring multiple goals each. Haylee played her heart out in both offense and defense. Our star goalie was Hanah with some incredible saves. Our defense was was strong and always ready to hustle. Gabby had some amazing passes to the offense. Looking forward to seeing what this team of girls will do in the weeks ahead!

Atlanta United It amazes me every season that you can put a bunch of kids who don’t know each other on a field, tell them they’re a team...and they are! Some of these kiddos have never met each other, let alone played soccer together. Heck, some haven’t ever played soccer at all. Yet, they went out there and worked together, supported each other, and played really well! Great job guys! I can’t wait to see you play the rest of the season!

Minnesota United Really tough loss this week, but I'm confident our team is going to develop nicely as the season goes on. Great link-up play in midfield by Sarah, Logan, and Nick.
