Since all of our scheduled orientations have concluded, these are the procedures to get your student enrolled in our Career Discovery Academy 1) Download Updated Registration Procedures for CDA 2017 from www.wlac.edu/Free-College 2) Student completes a WLAC application
Complete a paper application if the student is UNDER age 14 as of 6/12/17 (attached)

3) Complete a Supplemental K-12 form (attached) and have it signed by the student, a parent and an official from student’s current school. You must list the ALL the courses your student is interested in enrolling. They might not get their first choice, so please write down all courses they are interested in.

4) For students entering 8th grade in the fall AND those under age 14 as of June 12, you MUST submit the paper college application and the completed K-12 form to SC-107. If the office is closed, please leave in Mailbox #259B, bungalow B-1 (next to Parking lot A)
5) For students entering 9th grade or higher in the fall and those 14 and older as of June 12, you must submit your completed K-12 form to Admissions in SSB Building where they will process it and give your student a WLAC student ID# (make a copy BEFORE submitting it)

6) Email the completed 2017 CDA Student Application Checklist packet, copy of completed K-12 form, student’s name and their WLAC Student ID# with the academy sessions they want and we will respond regarding their acceptance
7) Upon acceptance into the desired academies, pay for the applicable sessions at Westside Extension (in-person in their bungalow located in the back of Parking lot 5 or online or online by purchasing an e-giftcard from Westside Extension at https://westlac.augusoft.net/index.cfm (upper right corner)). Make sure to put your child’s name as the recipient and [email protected] in “Send email to” and email your receipt to [email protected]
LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION OF STUDENTS IN GRADES K-12
ADMISSION: Colleges in the Los Angeles Community College District (“LACCD”) may admit as a special part-time or full-time student anyone who is a student in grades K-12 who has met the LACCD’s admissions requirements and who, in the opinion of the College President (or designee), may benefit from instruction. (Education Code sections 48800, 48800.5, 76001; LACCD Board Rules 8100.06, 8100.07, 8100.08; LACCD Administrative Regulation E-87.)
FEES: Enrollment fees are required for special full-time students (i.e., taking more than 11 units), but waived for special part-time students (i.e., taking 11 units or less). (Education Code section 76300(f), LACCD Board Rule 8100.03.) Special part-time students are exempt from the nonresident tuition fee (Education Code section 76140(a) (4), LACCD Board Rule 8100.03.) The LACCD also charges a health fee (certain categories of students are exempt) and, where applicable, a student representation fee.
CONDITIONS: The student is expected to follow regulations and procedures that apply to all college students. The student shall receive college credit for the community college courses that the student completes. Arrangements for receiving high school credit for completed course work must be made with the student’s high school. The student may only enroll in those courses listed on this form. This enrollment approval form must be presented when the student initially files an application for admission to the college, and a separate approval must be provided for each semester or term in which the student wishes to enroll. The LACCD and its colleges assume no responsibility for the supervision of minor students (i.e., students under 18 years of age) outside the classroom setting. Parents are responsible for ensuring that their children are appropriately supervised before class begins, after class finishes, or when a class is cancelled and/or dismissed early.

I will take care of my personal business before class and during scheduled breaks. 9. Follow the procedures set up by parents to arrive on time and depart WLAC after class ends. 10. during class. My electronic devices will be kept out of sight and turned to silent mode during class. 11. NOT fight or engage in inappropriate behavior that negatively affects others or myself. Fighting will result in the immediate
