" 'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are youmy ways,' declares the Lord." -Isaiah 55:8
Our school actively seeks opportunities for our studentsto engage in meaningful educational experiencesoutside of the classroom. One such opportunity is
through Auburn Universitys College of Sciences andMathematics. This event brings hundreds of students
to the Auburn campus to participate in hands-on science relatedactivities. This field trip is popular with Eagle Ranch students, and wehold an essay contest to determine who may attend. Out of 20 entriesthis year, 12 students were selected to make the trip.
At one of the science demonstrations, a professor challenged thestudents to create an electronic circuit with the supplies provided, buthe offered no instructions. Out of all of the students participating,a team of two Eagle Ranch students were first to complete the challenge. As the professor scrutinized the finished circuit, he commented Hmm.Very good; thats not the way I would have done it, but it works!
As I thought about the past difficulties of the two students who werepraised by the professor, I was struck by the irony of his comment. Before coming to Eagle Ranch, these two young men seemed to be ona path of destruction. And yet, God had altogether different plans anddifferent methods for achieving His purpose in their lives. He usedtheir past struggles to increase their perseverance and build character.
Thank you for your continued support of our ministry and the hope itprovides to students and families in crisis.

by Jimmy Morris, Grand ather o Kayla
Kayla has been with us all o her li e. Her momhad a lot o issues, so we took ull custody oKayla and her older brother, and we raised them.I thought we were the only ones, but weve ounda lot o people raising their grandchildren too.
Someone told my wi e about Eagle Ranch. We talked to our pastor about the Ranch, and he saidit would be a good place or Kayla as well as us. We neverreally talked about our problems we just kept to
ourselves. We wouldnt try to work things out. But thingsjust got worse that way.
We came to the Ranch or meetings and counseling. A ter about a month, things started working better or us in our home because we started to talkabout problems. It really helped out in our amily. We still are working thingsout, but we know how to do it now. We all try to help each other.
The teachers at the Eagle Ranch School really helped Kayla. At school she is doingbetter than ever. The houseparents were really nice to us, and they had rules orthe kids, which is what we had to do at our home. When we got home with her,
we stayed with the rules.A lot o our riends like to hear about our meetings and the things weve learned atthe Ranch. Theyd say, "That sounds pretty good maybe well sit around the tableand talk with our kid and work things out." Im trying to help my riends, andweve gotten a lot o help too rommy pastor, my sister, and others. Turns out wehave a lot o riends I didnt know we had.
" I learned how to work with other people. I I get into an
argument, I know to talk it out and share how Im eeling." Favorite Activities:Football on the ront lawn with my housedad.
What I'll Miss: The whole place. The teachers and small classes.
Biggest Infuence: My counselor. She cared about our amily and wanted to help us.
Future Plans:Play so tball in high school and hope ully get a scholarship to UGA tobecome a lawyer.

God has changed m y life. M y mom and I were not getting along at all. I was being ver y
disrespectful. I was putting holes in m y walls,
and I was punching m y door. M y mom was

Then m y grandparents came to visit.
The y came out to Eagle R anch and checked it out.
The y thought it looked good. A couple of months

I wasn't excited when I came here. I was

for me, even when I am at Eagle R anch working on my stuff. They love me very much. I love them
very much too. That is why I am thankful.
I am thankful for Eagle R anch. It has helped
