    An order entry system is a set of procedures to input thewho, what, where, when and how of a customer orderinto the database. It is an input operation. Entering thedata accurately at minimum cost is the main objective.

    Order entry systems design is to use on-line terminals atwhich sales department personnel enter order data byfilling in blanks in a formatted display screen. Hence can

    be detected at the time of data entry. The ideal systembeyond this type of entry system is to simply receive amachine readable purchase order from the customer.
