Gather Medication to Administer

Take meds from omicell and/or patient drawer outside of roomPlace them on the counter top next to the computer and scanner at the patient’s bedside.

Sign into Meditech and select your Patient

Verifying Patent Account Number

Scan Patient’s ID Band with scannerAfter you will see:

Scanning the Medication

◊ You will hear a beep, and there will be a magenta color of Administered with the date/time.

If the dose is less than the strength of the med scanned a pop up screen will appear.

Note this is a 1 mg tabOrdered Dose is 0.5 mg

You can select either the scanned dose or the Ordered dose

Stop and send information to pharmacy!

If there are several orders for the same medication, the system will ask you which one you want to administer. Select the med you want to administer.

Note one is scheduled and lower dose and the other is prn

Once you select the med, Meditech shows the magenta color that it has be administered.

You can scan all the meds given, then click on save.The meds scanned will have a bar code icon next to current status

Pneumovax and Influenza Vaccine will be entered as one time schedule meds.
