Camarillas Sandstone FormationMedium to coarse calcareous sand. Bed thickness ranged from 30cm to 200cm. Contained mostly CaCO3 and small shell fragments. Redish tint is iron oxide staining. Overall thickness undetermined because there is no exposure of basal contact on the surface.
Palomar Limestone FormationTransition between competent and incompetent bedding. Consist of about 60-70% carbonate mud throughoutall its members, with more and more fossil evidence towards the Upper Palomar Member and the overlying lithology. Bed thickness ranges from 50cm - 200cm
Utrillas Marl FormationThe Utrillas Marl Formation is a series of interbedded competent white carbonate sands and less competent carbonate-rich mudstone. Bed thickness ranges from 20cm to 200cm. Contains coal seams and gypsum crystals.
Canadillas Limestone FormationInterbedded mircritic limestone with angular clasts. Bed thickness is 50cm to >100cm. Dogtooth calcite is present in fabric. A small section of this formation has been slightly dolomitised, but not seen in the area of study.
Aldehuela Conglomerate FormationHas rounded clasts embedded in a sandy matrix. 75% of the clasts are micritic limestone. Undetermined bed thickness and estimated overall thickness of 200m. Represents an erosional surface overlying anangular unconformity.
Covachuela Conglomerate FormationContains a poorly sorted matrix of sand and 50cm+ clasts. This unit represents an unconformable erosional surface. Also shows upward ning.
