Forlì-Cesena Chamberof Commerce

A dynamic social and economic situation integrated in a territory rich in cul-ture and traditions: this is Forlì-Cesena Province. Development and social co-hesion have brought good quality of life; the Province is well-positioned in the European context. Businesses and Public Administration work together to enhance the territory in a context of subsidiary between public and private.

The territory of the Province covers an area of 2,377 sq km, and is part plain, part hill country, and part mountainous. For administrative purposes, the Prov-ince is sub-divided into 30 municipalities, the principal ones being Forlì (the chief town) and Cesena. The Province is well-known for its seaside resorts, especially Cesenatico, and for three spa towns: Bagno di Romagna, Castro-caro and Fratta Terme.

The Province has about 372,000 inhabitants, of whom 177,500 reside in the Forlì district and 194,500 in the Cesena district; almost 60% of the inhabitants of the Province live in the two principal municipalities, Forlì and Cesena.

In relation to the influx of immigrants both from other Italian provinces and from abroad, the Province appears especially attractive.

The occupational situation is especially good: high employment figures and low unemployment figures, among the best within the national average. The wealth produced in the Province, (added value) is about 9,000 million Euros. Forlì – Cesena accounts for approximately 8.4% of the added value of the Emilia- Romagna region, and the territory has always shown good levels of growth over time.

The contribution of single sectors of the economy is as follows: agriculture

Page 5: Final Catalogue - Project Lebanon

4.5%, industry strictly defined 19%, building 6.2%, services 70.3%.

The Province has become over time one of the foremost in Italy for added value per head, above the national average. The productive structure of the territory, based mainly on a number of small businesses operating in various fields, is distinguished by widespread entrepreneurship and a high number of cooperative undertakings. A number of large businesses also operate in this context, playing a major role in the development of the territory. The Province numbers about 40,300 businesses: 1business per every 9 inhabitants, against 9.7 at regional level and 11.5 in Italy.

Overseas relations are dynamic, and imports are mainly in the following sec-tors: “foodstuffs”, “electrical machinery”, “mechanical machinery and de-vices”, “agriculture, game and fishing”, “chemical products”. Products most exported: “mechanical machinery and devices”, “farm produce”, “leather and leather goods” (footwear), “ foodstuffs and beverages”, “metals and metal products”, “upholstered furniture”.

The businesses present in the Province are particularly inclined towards rela-tions with European Union countries.

The main partners in trade are Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Outside the E.U. trade is mainly with other European countries, North America, and Eastern Asia.

Local companies are generally oriented towards the overseas market, to-wards internationalization, quality, innovation; and there is a dynamic flow of investments to and from other countries.

Rimini Chamber of Commerce

STATUS OF THE ORGANISATION

Rimini Chamber of Commerce was founded in the first half of the nineties, on the occasion of the establishment of the new Rimini province. It is a public autonomous entity that takes care of companies’ overall interest and pro-motes the economic development of the province.

In Italy, Chambers of Commerce are public bodies: they do not receive mon-ey from the central Government of Rome, but all companies are obliged to pay the Chamber fees called “diritto camerale”.

BODIES OF THE ORGANISATION

COUNCIL (27 members representing the most important economic sectors in Rimini)

BOARD (10 members)

CHAIRMAN

BOARD OF AUDITORS (3 members)

The structure is composed by a Secretary General, a Deputy Secretary Gen-eral and 74 employees.

TYPE OF ACTIVITIES

Rimini Chamber of Commerce carries out important tasks for local compa-nies and local economy such as: keeping the “Registro Imprese”, which is an actual record of all the enterprises located in the province, ensuring correct relationship between companies and consumers (function of market

regulation), supporting the internationalization process of companies, offer-ing business information and organising promotional activities aimed at ex-panding the local economy.

In particular, to support the process of internationalization of local compa-nies, every year is presented a program with several services offered to all local companies:

Foreign business missions and loans for the participation in foreign trade fairs to introduce local companies to new markets and support new business;

Foreign desks: located in Russia (Moscow), Bosnia-Herzegovina (Sarajevo), China (Shanghai), United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi), Switzerland (Zurich), United States (NY), North Africa (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt), these are Rimini Chamber of Commerce antennas, located in foreign coun-tries and facilitating the international contacts of Rimini companies in those countries;

Business meetings and country presentations: illustrating business opportuni-ties in foreign countries and supporting commercial and industrial relation between selected Italian and foreign companies (BtoB);

Ravenna Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber of Commerce is an independent elective public body, an open institution, involved in the economic activities of the territory which it promotes and develops by providing real services.

The Chamber of Commerce is connected in a network with the entire system of chambers of commerce in Italy and abroad, integrated with other orga-nizations and national institutions, supported by the cooperation of business associations and represents a channel for businesses to access the public administration, the point where business and the public administration meet, the gateway to increasingly broad markets.

The Azienda Speciale Eurosportello is the instrument created by the Ravenna Chamber of Commerce to accompany companies in the processes of inter-nationalization through the provision of assistance services and consultation and the creation of special projects. Thanks to the connections with its own offices in the main

international market areas and the fact that it is part of the most important European business support network supporting businesses, the Enterprise Eu-rope Network (EEN), the Eurosportello also facilitates the opening of interna-tional relations for small $and medium businesses interested in seizing business opportunities or developing economic cooperation projects.

To encourage expansion in foreign markets of specific production chains present in the territory there is a number of consortiums which have the ob-jective of promoting the marketing abroad of food, organic and nautical products of their member companies by taking part in trade fairs and orga-nizing specific schemes:

The Ravenna Chamber of Commerce has promoted, in collaboration with the Provincial Administration and all the Municipalities of the province, the creation of a territorial marketing company. Stepra (Sviluppo Territoriale della Provincia di Ravenna) Territorial Development of the Province of Ravenna.

Stepra has been promoting economic and business development in the province of Ravenna since 1999, focusing increasingly on the creation of ar-eas for factories and workshops, made available under more

favorable conditions than are normally found on the market.

This mission became fully operational as from 2002. Stepra operates as a local reference for business people interested in opportunities for setting up pro-duction facilities in the territory of the province of Ravenna, a geographically strategic location in which to make investments.

At the moment it has already started 12 schemes, of which 8 are in progress and 4 have been concluded, for a total area of 1,400,000 sq m in various municipalities of the province of Ravenna.

Thanks to the implementation of land-use policies aimed at small and me-dium companies, which have induced third party investments for an esti-mated total of around 200 million Euros, about 100 companies have been established in the areas urbanized by Stepra.

The Carli Group is made up of 20 highly structured companies that operate in the agri-food and zoo-technical sectors. The group’s pyramidal structure includes farming enterprises, whose activities range from the culti-vation of land and animal husbandry to the management of environmental oases, companies that process raw materials, companies specialised in sell-ing in the domestic and international market, and logistic, technical and ad-ministrative service providers. The story of the Carli family is based on a long-time relationship with land and nature. Back in the ‘60s the brothers Andrea, Ernesto and Alfredo transformed this interest into a family business specialized in forage pressing and milling. Thanks to the extensive know-how and determi-nation of the founders, supported by an especially receptive second gener-ation, the business enjoyed exponential growth and is today a solid and prof-itable agro-industrial enterprise, earning approximately 50.000.000,00 euros/year. The historical activity of the Carli Group, which continues to represent its core business, is the growth of alfalfa and hay on approximately 61.776,30 acres of land. VetroVentilato transforms a window from the weakest point thermally in a building to the strongest, because the system guarantees less heat loss than a wall. VetroVentilato creates a thermal and acoustic buffer in just 50 mm which protects the room from heat, cold and noise and as a result ther-mal insulation and soundproofing are of a higher standard than is required by stringent EU requisites. VetroVentilato means more comfortable living spaces and greater energy savings. VetroVentilato is a dynamic triple glazing enve-lope system which features a built-in blind in the external cavity and a tangen-tial fan which mechanically ventilates the internal cavity. It can be fitted into traditional frames without having to make any alterations. The triple glazing system is only 50 mm thick and a slim 25 mm with double glazing, which is fitted with a micro-perforated technical curtain. VetroVentilato is the ideal solution when glazing straightforward windows or more complicated curtain walls. VetroVentilato can be installed as a stand-alone system or work alongside other HVAC systems to deliver enhanced climate control. The combined set-tings system allows you to monitor the main working parameters and to ac-tively control the tangential fan and built-in blind to obtain top performance and ensure an optimum level of comfort in the environment.

Thanks to this versatility, designers can freely choose the right con-figuration for their clients: they have peace of mind that the system will fit in seamlessly with the other components in the building and maximise the energy performance of the building-system.

Vicar s.r.l. manufactures turbine sprayers for fruit and wine-growing. The company introduces a new technology with turbine instead of propeller: the turbine forces the air into suitable ducts, using spray heads assembled at the outlet of the air, which allows the best spray to the trees.

This technology saves approximately 70-80% of water and product compared to the usual propeller technology, with great environmental ben-efits.

Vicar’s typical customers are either a family company or a big com-pany involved in fruit or winegrowing.

They are looking for new customers and agents in the Lebanese and Middle East markets.

Since March 2010, Fit Interiors starts an innovative production based on ecology. All lockers are made with a highly eco-friendly melamine panel. Two reasons have driven us to adopt this new production program: 1- ENVIRONMENT: The panel is made of recycled ma-terial (European FSC Regulations) and therefore without using specific types wood (Green Heart wood). 2- HEALTH: The formaldehyde emission of the panel is less than 0.3mg/litre; this is less than the emission of a standard panel which is equal to or less than 1.5 mg/litre. However, formaldehyde is a substance that is present in nature and, in high concentra-tions, it can cause serious health problems; the World Health Or-ganisation recommends using the minimum amount possible.
