Film Review Anaylsis

This title has a unique style, Its like the writing you find on the front of a cinema. It gives the review a cozy cinema style mood.

Bold and large ‘Impact’ style font for the name of the film, It’s a typical convention that’s used to attract the audiences attention.

The main image is what attracts a magazine page flicker to a review. I like the way the focus is used in this picture, it brings out the man at the front of the image and gives the picture depth.

5 star rating system. The terminology they use for a one star film is quite amusing, they call it ‘Tragic’. This accentuates that there is an audience for making fun of bad films.

The Main body of text. The reviewer tends to make links to related films and previous films that Danny Boyle has directed. This seems like quite a sophisticated review, which probably means the film is aimed at an older audience. One thing I’ve noticed in film reviews is, they tend to review the film in terms of an experience instead of getting into detail about what shots are used etc, because the audience are only interested in what the film makes them feel like.
