Five aspiring solo singers audi-tion for a singing competition, and after failing to progress individually, they come back as a group. After enduring weeks of intense competition, mentoring by Simon Cowell and amassing a huge fanba-se, they make it to the finals, ultimately leaving the com-petition in third place. If this sounds like the beginning of world domination by a boy band named One Direction on the U.K. version of „X Factor,“ that‘s because it is.

X Factor contestants have taken a path similar to their male U.K.

Finishing in third place behind teen diva Carly Rose Sonenclar and winner Tate Stevens, Fifth Harmony long was considered an underdog in the competition. Although mentor Co-well saw a spark in the girls from their first performance during the judges’ homes round, they suffered from confusing name changes (first LYLAS, then 1432 and finally Fifth Harm-ony) in the early stages of competition. But it was the girls’ semifinal performance of Ellie Goulding’s “Anything Could Happen” that cemented their status as a force to be reckoned with. “I knew from the girls’ first performance at judges’ homes in Miami that we’d done the right thing,” said Cowell. “The chemistry between the Fifth Harmony girls both on- and offstage is fantastic. They are really great girls who have become best friends. They’re great fun to be around, and most importantly, they are all incredibly talented.”

Unique voices come together and bring the world to their feet

Fifth Harmony won Next Pop Superstars of 2013 thanks to an astounding effort from their fans (known as “Harmonizers”), and we’re pretty confident they’ll live up to this

title. In case you’re unfamiliar, 5H is a five member late-’90s style girl group who sang “Anything Could Happen” on X Factor and proved just that—they advan-ced to the final three and were subsequently signed to Syco, Simon Cowell’s label. As previously reported, Fifth Harmony is signed to Syco Music/Epic Records, which announced in a press release: „Fifth Harmony’s debut album will be A&R’d by Syco Music and executive produced by multi platinum selling pro-ducer/songwriter Julian Bunetta (One Direction, Boyz II Men, Flo Rida, Natasha Bedingfield, Leona Lewis), who first worked with the girl group as a music pro-ducer on The X Factor. The album will also feature collaborations with songwri-ters Autumn Rowe (Cher Lloyd, Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis) and Lil’ Eddie (Usher, Pink, Jessie J, Cody Simpson).“

Girl group gets recognition from big names of the industry

The band was excited about the chance to share the music, but the stars never dreamed that Ed Sheeran would listen do. Attaching a video, the five member band sings the popu-lar song standing around the piano in a very comfortable setting.Apparently Ed Sheeran did, which has given Fifth Harm-ony a new spotlight as fans are wanting to check out the song that Sheeran gave his approval to so willingly and unprovoked. Calling the ren-dition “incredible” the praise has people wanting to find out more about the group.
