Jews got involved primarily as producers during the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, but it wasn't until recent times that the Jewish experience in Mexico was reflected on-screen. Film director Isaac Artenstein will discuss content and the specific contributions of Jewish filmmakers in Mexico, utilizing clips from films like Norah’s Will, Novia Que Te Vea, and his own documentary, Tijuana Jews.

Award-winning jazz guitarist-composer-producer Jaime Valle has performed worldwide with various artists, including Sammy Davis Jr. and Poncho Sanchez. The concert will include guest Jazz and Latin singer Coral MacFarland who will perform in Ladino, the Spanish-Jewish dialect spoken by Sephardic Jews.

Enrique Chmelnik is a journalist and researcher who hosts “El Aleph de Radio Red: La Voz Judía en la Radio,” the only Jewish radio program in Mexico. He is the Director of the Center for Documentation and Research of the Ashkenazi Jewish Community in Mexico, where the history of the community is stored. He was involved in the creation of content for the museum Memoria y Tolerancia in Mexico City. He will discuss the current state of discrimination and tolerance in Mexico with an historic perspective.
