PLEASE JOIN US AT OUR GENERAL MEETING MONDAY JANUARY 5th
6:30 p.m. Acampora Cottage 39 Montauk Hwy. Blue Pt.
ALL ARE WELCOME…..BRING A FRIEND
Sisters and Brothers,
Hopefully this letter finds you beginning to unwind from the holiday stress. It seems that every year we plan, shop, bake, cook
and Christmas Day is gone in the blink of an eye. I hope all of you had a Blessed and Happy Christmas with your family and
friends. Every year I look around my dining table and give thanks for my wonderful family and friends,
a group that seems to expand each year.
Our Lodge Christmas party at Flanagan's was a huge success. We had 45 members attend, and we all had a great time.
The venue, food and service was wonderful.
In January, we will be having various committee meetings. Sister Dottie and Sister Madeline M. will start working on the
installation of new officers to be held in March. A signup sheet for help will be passed around at our January meeting. If you
would like to contact Sister Dottie, her e-mail is [email protected]. Also an Auction Committee meeting will be held at
Patchogue-Medford Library, Jan. 12 at 6:00 PM. All members are welcome, and all input, jobs, contributions etc. will be
discussed. Again any questions should be directed to Sister Dottie.
2015 Dues are now being collected. Please see Treasurer, Brother Nat, and Financial Secretary, Sister Carmela at the meeting.
Sister Jackie is still collecting box tops and food for food pantry.
HAVE A WONDERFUL AND SAFE NEW YEAR, Fraternally, Sister Joan

Do you call it Macaroni or Pasta? I grew up calling it Macaroni, but Pasta is the favored
term now. My 6 year old grandson tells me, “Grandma, it’s Pasta, not Macaroni.”
Marco Polo DID NOT return to Italy with pasta from China. This legend is false. In fact, pasta was invented
by Italians and has become symbolic of their dedication to perfection and pride in the kitchen.
Ancient Rome was the birthplace of fresh pasta (pasta fresca)
Keep at least three types of pasta in your cupboard, a ridged one like penne or rigatoni for thick and
meat based sauces, a thin ribbon such as linguini for thinner and seafood sauces, and a small one such
as stelline or ditalini for adding to soups and broths
There are many shapes and sizes of Macaroni, check out these websites for great photos.
