MEMBER OF THE MONTH PAT LYNCH

Pat’s come a long way from growing up in a small town in Maui, Hawaii. He spent his early days growing up in Hilimile, Hawaii. Pronounced Hi-LI-Me-Le. When Pat was 10 years old his family moved from Hawaii to Mesa, Az. Quite a change! Pat attended Westward High School in Mesa and upon graduation joined the Army and the 101st Airborne stationed in Vietnam. Although part of the “101ST Air-borne”, Pat became a door gunner and crew chief aboard a “Huey” gunship helicop-ter. Upon returning from Vietnam in 1969 Pat found his first Mustang, a 1968. He also met his wife, Leisa, married her and took her on their honeymoon to where else “Hawaii”. Wait a minute, isn’t this where our story began?

` Pat and Leisa have been mar-ried 40 years, and have two daughters, Morgan a nurse and Madyson a helicop-ter pilot with an Air Evac Company. Madyson is married to Pat’s favorite son-in-law, Andy Floyd, an electrical contractor in Arizona. Pat joined AmericaWest airlines in 1985 and is currently a flight captain on a B757 for U.S. Airways. Pat drives a

1967 Mustang Fastback with a 289 engine and C-4 automatic transmission. He has modified the Fastback with new suspension and big “Baer” disc brakes all around. He has a fresh new red paintjob and red interior making this a very sharp looking car with it’s crager chrome mags. Future modifications will include a high performance engine, a tremic 5-speed transmission and a 3:55-3:73 “Posi” rear end.

Pat joined Copperstate Mustang Club last year after his brother-in-law, Ron Himrich and his wife, Mary (Pat’s sister) became club members. (We will get more info. on Ron and Mary in an upcoming article).

Pat has owned 8 Mustangs over the years and really enjoys his current Pony, and the time he spends with Copperstate members he has met. We all look forward to seeing Pat and Leisa at our many events. Thanks for be-coming a member. Best Wishes.

PS. You’ll like Pat. He is easy going and a funny guy. He will fit in “well” with the rest of us-car-crazy guys and can be seen at the Pavilions on Saturday night when he is in town.

Scott will see if he can connect the two. If anyone has any opinions on the Pay Pal account, con-tact Jeff. Feb 19th is our pancake breakfast open to all paid membership members. THE ROUNDUP

Scottsdale, AZ (January 25, 2016) With enough intensity and excitement to turn non-collectors into enthusiasts, the atmosphere at Russo and Steele’s Scottsdale 2012 auction block was downright palpable. An overflowing auction block, one-of-a-kind marvels and a record number of car-loving bidders led Russo and Steele to break 5 world records. From European sports to American muscle and hot rods to customs, this year’s auction event held an impressing line up of cars to suit the needs of any collector.

Russo Steele Smashes 5 World Records

1967 Ferrari 330 GT-$429,000 1968 Chevrolet L-88 Corvette Roaster—$687,500

1967 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible-$357,500

1937 Mercedes-Benz 230 A-$159,500

1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 Convertible-$132,000

One of only 20 Roadsters produced in 1968 featur-ing the earth shaking, tire shredding, and asphalt burning L88! Obliterated the old record by $100,000!

This model has become highly coveted by enthu-siasts for its ease of main-tenance, driving profi-ciency and manners. It has undergone a Platinum level quality restoration.

“Camaro for the street”, in 1967 issue of Hot Rod magazine. Served Pace Car duties at Road Amer-ica Can-Am under the helm of Sir Stirling Moss.

The Cabriolet A. Mer-cedes-Benz created three models of the 230 and designated each model by code letters. A racy and relatively expensive sports model.

Highly documented rare muscle car with original purchase or-der, invoice, broadcast card, a copy of all 3 titles, letter from original owner, original owner’s manual and most important, original window sticker.

THE PARKING LOT

My darling husband, Before you return from your business trip, I just want to let you know about the small accident I had with the pick-up truck when I turned into the driveway. Fortunately it’s not too bad and I really didn’t get hurt, so please don’t worry too much about me. I was coming home from Wal-Mart, and when I turned into the driveway I accidentally pushed down on the accelerator instead of the brake. The garage door is slightly bent but fortunately the pick-up came to a halt when it bumped into your car. I am really sorry, but I know in your kind-hearted way you will forgive me. You know how much I love you and care for you my sweetheart. I am enclosing a picture of the damage for you.

PS—Your girlfriend called!
