Welcome to the seventh editionofGLOBERACERSUltraBOB. Ultra cycling and the racehavecomealongwayfromhavingahandfulofultracyclistsinIndiatohavinganoticeableultracyclingcommunity.Beproudtobepartofthethrivingcommunitythatisseeingsomegreattalent.

AstheRaceDirector,Itakethisopportunitytowishyouthebestandasaferace.Thisracehasbroughtawonderfulteamofvolunteers,routemarshalsandridersinthecommunitytogether, and it is my pleasure to be at the helm of things and witness talented anddetermined riders take on a challenging course. Rules and guidelines are to be followedwithoutimmunityforsanctityoftheraceandsafetyoftherider.

The race route weaves through some villages, highway sections, forest area taking youthroughthetoughKalhattyclimbandbringsyoubackthroughGuduluru,whereoneneedstoexercisecautionandwatchforoncomingvehiclesduringdescentandgetthroughsomebadroadsections.

Theraceroutedistancehasbeenshortenedinviewofchangeinforestentryandexittimes.In view of the same qualifying times for RAAM and UMCAWorld cup points have beenadjustedaspertheguidelines.GoodluckforyourRAAMqualification.Itwillbehistoryinthemakingandwearegladtobepartofit.

RACERULES,REGULATIONSANDRIDERPENALTIES

Racerulesanddirectionsareaguidelinetoallracers,crewmembersandvolunteerstoensureafairandhonestrace,whichprotectstheintegrityandsanctityoftheraceandallracers.Individualswillfullyignoringrulesandnotheadingthewarningswillbedisqualifiedandnotallowed to continuewith the race.Rulesare simpleand ingeneralengagedtomeetIndianroadconditionsandsafetyrequirements.

GeneralRacerules:

1. Everysoloandteammusthavecrew/supportteamwithoutfail.Minimumcrewsizeis2.

2. Nodraftingofvehicles,non-motorizedvehiclesorotherridersisallowed3. Ridersarenotallowedtotravelinvehiclesandmustridetheentireroute.4. Ridersmustwearreflectivevestfrom5.30pmto6.30amduringtherace5. Frontlight,taillightandhelmetsareamust6. Bibshowingridernumbermustbevisibletothemarshals.7. Ridernumbermustbedisplayedonthebikebeingused.8. Aerobarsareallowed9. Changeofcyclesisallowed.10. Minimumageofparticipant:18years.11. Have your rider-book singed by one of the volunteers at the time stations after

entering the time of arrival. (Ensure your crewmembers are aware of this if youassignthedutytothem.)

12. Clock starts at the startof the race, anddoesnot stop for any reason.Your finishtimeiswhenyoucrosstheofficialfinishlineasperyourracebook.Penaltieswillbeadded to your final time, and that will your official finish time, under allcircumstances.

13. TIME LIMIT FOR RAAM QUALIFICATION: 30 HOURS FOR MEN, 32 HOURS FORWOMEN

1. Shouldalwaysdisplayriderinformationandcrewvehiclestickers–Timepenalty10minutesperwarning.

2. Hazard lights on at all times while on road and parked on the roadside – Timepenalty10minutesperwarming.

3. Should follow the rider and not drive in front of or parallel to the rider. – Timepenalty20minutesperwarning.

4. Candrivealongtheridernomorethan4times inonehourtohandover foodanddrinks.Cautionneedstobeexercisedsoastonotblockoncomingtrafficnorcross

themedian.

GuidelinesandInstructionstocrew:1. Please do not violate traffic rules unless the traffic police give you permission to

followyourriderwhilethetrafficlightisred.2. Do not block traffic at any junction or on the highway. Park on the shoulder and

clearofthetraffic.3. Keep your vehicle’s hazard lights on all times and its headlights on during the

night/earlymornings.4. If your rider is sleeping or taking a short break, please find an area on the

highway/road,whichhasampleshoulder,andbreakarea.5. Notifytheracedirectorifyourriderisbreakingforlongerthan30minutessoasto

ensuresafetyofridersandthecrew.6. Notifyyourlocationevery3hoursbycallingthemarshalsorvolunteersassignedto

the job. You will find this information in the rider-book given to your duringorientationthedaybeforetherace.Ifamarshalisassignedtoyourrider,theywillkeepheadquartersinformedofanydelays.

7. Minimumageforcrew:18years8. Crew leader should ensure that adequate sleep time is assigned to all the

crewmemberstoavoidexhaustionandaccidents.9. If yournotice thatyour rider is fallingasleepandrefuses to sleep,pleasenotifya

marshalortheracedirectortoensuresafetyoftherider.

Riderdisqualificationcriteria:1. RaceradvancingalongtheRaceRoutewithoutabikeorinanyvehiclewiththeintent

of not riding a section of theRaceRoute, unless otherwise permitted by the racedirectorunderunforeseencircumstances.

2. Improperly registered, licensed or insured Support Vehicles and/or improperlylicensedSupportVehicleoperators.

3. IllegaldraftingofanyVehicle/non-motorizedvehicle/otherriders.4. Holding onto another Vehicle (motorized or non-motorized) to aid or augment

forward travel. Refusing to take a sleep (off bike) break, as requested by a RaceOfficial.

5. BehavioronthepartofRacersorCrewthatisdeemedinappropriateandthatmightcause safety, legal or reputationproblems forTheRaceor otherRacers and theirCrew.

6. WillfullyalteringroadssignstomisdirectotherRacersorforanyotherreason.
