    The SOIL Region of the VCCA met at Ryans in Mt. Vernon, IL. at noon on January 16, 2010.Members ate while they visited and the meeting was called to order at 12:35 pm by director BillShubert. Fourteen members were present with one guest.

    The minutes of the December meeting were read. Motion to accept the minutes as read was made byDick Walker and seconded by Sonny Moyers. Motion was carried. Committee reports were made.The treasurer went over last months activities. Calendars were passed out to those wanting to sell

    them. Dick, the events chairman, talked of a cruise in at the Illinois Center Mall In Marion wascurrently happening. February 14th there will be two swap meets in our area. One is in Springfield andthe other one is in Pinckneyville.

    Old business was discussed. The club discussed and filled out the survey that Dave Miner sent onallowing modifies being in the tour passports. Linda Shubert volunteered to be secretary; no oneopposed. Answers to the trivia questions in the January newsletter were given. Lana Logsdon won thetraveling trophy.

    The 2010 Central Meet, our 2nd annual spring tour, and fund raising ideas were the new business on theagenda. Bill talked of the Central Meet this year being in Nashville, In. on July 18th July 21. Since it

    is so close he would like to see several of the members attend. More of this event will be discussed inthe upcoming meetings. Also information on the Central Meet will be in the newsletters. Ideas for thespring tour were thrown out. They were: go to Gateway Classic Cars for a picnic and tour in East St.Louis, go to Giant City Lodge in Makanda, or do a tour around the Alton area. These ideas will bediscussed in future meetings. Hosting a swap meet was a suggestion for another fund raiser. Anyonewith more ideas for these events and other events should bring them to the next meeting.

    There were no announcements. The next meeting will be held at Ryans in Mt. Vernon at noon onSaturday, February 20th. The March meeting on the 20th will also be at Ryans.

    Motion to adjourn was made by Sonny and seconded by Mike Logsdon. Motion was carried; weadjourned at 2:20 pm.

    Here is some updated information on the 2010 Central Meet.

    It will be hosted by the Indiana RegionLocation of the 2010 Central Meet is Nashville, INDIANAThe dates will be July 18-21, 2010Note: This is a Sunday thru Wednesday Meet Why? The Indiana Region has been working hard to holdthe hotel costs. The hotels are cheaper from Sunday thru Wednesday.The Host Hotel will be The Seasons Lodge and Conference Center in Nashville, Indiana7-18-10 Sunday - no major events7-19-10 Monday - Driving Tour with welcoming time, vintage clothing, etc.in the evening7-20-10 Tuesday - Judging and Ladies Luncheon7-21-10 Wednesday - Awards Brunch in the late morning - Then say goodbye and head for home inthe afternoon

    These are tentative times only. Stay tuned for the finalized details.
