INTRODUCTION Solar PV panels mounted on the roof of a trailer

were used to power a refrigeration system. This application was for the delivery of

refrigerated food products by a supermarket chain. These solar refrigerated trailers are designed to

maintain refrigerated conditions for a period of roughly six hours a day only, and do not haul frozen product.

SUMMARY With the advancement of industrialization, people are living

far away from the food production areas; and are thickly populated into the industrial areas.

This dislocation of population requires proper means for food preservation and distribution without its spoilage.

The food preservation technology has developed sufficiently to preserve the wide variety of foods for a considerable long time as near the point of freshness as possible.
