The integrated Compass delivers valuable information about the scan’s orientation, the Height Sensor about the height and the Dual Axis Compensator about the scan’s level. 3D Documentation of indoor environments

With the Focus3D it is possible to quickly produce 3D documentations of interiors and technical installations such as building services, conveyor systems or process installations.

3D Documentation of outdoor environments

The Focus3D is well suited to 3D documenta-tion of buildings, building sites, roads and landscape features. Objects within a dis-tance of up to 120m are recorded.

Distance

The scanner uses a laserbeam which is reflectedback to the scanner byan object. The distanceis measured in millimetre-accuracy by the phase-shift between the sending and receiving beam.

Vertical angle

The mirror deflects the laser beam in vertical direction onto the same object. The angle is encoded simultaneously with the distance meas-urement.

Horizontal angle

The laser scanner re-volves 360° horizontally. The horizontal angle is encoded simultaneously with the distance meas-urement.

Computation of the 3D coordinate

Distance, vertical angle and horizontal angle make up a polar coordinate (d, α, β), which is then transformed to a Cartesian coordinate (x, y, z).

WebShare – now with 3D Measurement

FARO offers WebShare, a powerful tool for the easy and safe sharing of scan data over the Internet. With a single click in the Focus3D’s SCENE software, the current scan data can be transferred to a safe WebShare server.

Users such as the client or participating trades can easily view the scan data and evaluate it in detail using the free SCENE LT software. WebShare can be used without any additonal costs.

3D Measurements

Scans shared using the WebShare functionality can now be directly ana-lysed on the Internet. In the overview map it is possible to measure distances and area, while in the panorama view you can easily measure distances be-tween points.

Access for authorised project members

Authorised users can access the origi-nal 3D scan data via download and further study the data using the free SCENE LT software.

Detailed panoramic view

Each scan position offers a 360° panoramic view including all the recorded details.

Documentation Objects

This functionality allows the user to add infor-mation and attach documents using hyper-links. Documentation Objects are now avail-able in the panoramic view of WebShare to further enhance your 3D Documentation.

Surveyor‘s kitA tripod adapter (‘Wild three-claw system’) and a height adapter to match tachymeters on standard surveyors‘ tri-pods are available at 196mm.

Automation AdapterEnables the mounting on any support such as a fixed post, robot arm, rail etc.

Helical AdapterBuilds on the Automation Adapter but adds two pins and new Sanner brackets to fix the scanner body in a stable position, suitable for the roughest rides that may be encoun-tered in mobile scanning.

TMS Adapter With its two standard “Wild-studs”, it can hold two prisms. They support the quick survey of the scanner position.

In addition to a waterproof and extremely sturdy Pelicase with lots of compartments for important accessories, a light and elegant Rimowa case and an ergonomically designed backpack including tripod holder are also available.

Full power

With a spare battery and a quick charger (charging time of only 1 hour), it is possible to carry out even very time-consuming scan projects cable-free. A car charger with a 12V plug enables the battery to be charged on the go.
