DEDICA TION We, the Senior Class of 1965, do dedicate this
annual to you, our parents. Perhaps it can show in part the love we have and the thanks we owe for your kindness, your discipline, your help, and your counsel through the past years.
Throughout our lives these years spent under your guidance will remain unforgettable memories of our happy youth. Our thanks go to you for these memories.

M E S S A G E
We now find ourselves near the end of another school year. For the Senior Class this is the end of the last year as far as high school is concerned. For some of you this means that your "formal" education will have reached the terminal point. For others your "formal" education will remain a part of your life for months and even years to come. No matter which cate¬ gory you fall into, remember that in many ways "all living is an education." You have the challenge to continue your educa¬ tion and to improve your status as an individual, whether it be in one of our great educational institutions, or in the greatfield of work experience.
I hope as you go out to face the future you will always cherish the good things you have learned. I trust that you will ever strive for progress in your chosen field.
It has been a personal pleasure for me to have been asso¬ ciated with you, I am happy for you and proud of youfor having reached this important milepost along life's highway.
As you make your departure from Farmer High School you take with you my hopes and my prayers for a very happy and a very prosperous life. Take good care of yourselves, be thought¬ ful of your fellowman, and never forget our Creator who loves and guides us through all our days.

CLA SS POEM CLA SS SONG
As little tots we began to strive
To reach our goal, the Class of '65.
A step up the ladder we climbed each year,
With the help of parents and teachers dear.
We'll ne'er forget the fun we've had,
The joys we've shared, both good and bad.
Our work, our sports, activities, too.
All of these we leave to you.
As we part, our lives to live,
May we attempt our best to give.
We ask God's guidance as onward we strive
To make you proud of our Class--'65.
Class Poet, Nancy Smith
(Tune: Beneath The Cross of Jesus)
Within the halls of Farmer We stand to leave at last; We're sad to leave old Farmer High And high school days that's past. Our parents, teachers, friends so dear, Have helped us every day. We thank you for your helpfulness, Your kindness and your praise.
We've loved the work, we've tried hard, And all the games of fun, The tasks here at our dear old school, Have quickly come and gone. We'll cherish all the memories. They're held within each heart We stand to bid farewell tonight For each has done his part.
No matter what we do-- Or if we're far or near, There'll be that one and only sound-- Far echoes in our ears. We know not what the future holds, But we will always pray, God guide this Class of '65 As we all go our way.
Song Writer Gayle Sprinkle
CLASS HISTORY
Four years ago the Senior Class of 1965 entered High School. It was a new adventure for all of us and we were eager to begin under the customary name, "Green Freshmen." Our Freshmen advisors were: Miss Frances Evans, Mr. Eli Smith, and Mr. Talmadge Williams. Our class officers were: President, Caro! Moffitt; Vice President, Geraldene Durham; Secretary, Gerrelene McDowell; and Treasurer, Dianne Garner. Our year was full of work but we found time for pleas¬ ure too.
Time passed quickly and in 1962 we were Soph¬ omores. Those elected as officers were: President, Eddie Walker; Vice President, Worth Younts; Secre¬ tary, Gayle Sprinkle; Treasurer, Carol Moffitt; and Reporters; Roy Yates and Steve Henley. Our advisors were Mrs. Verna Russ, Mrs. Mary Watson, and Miss Loberta McNeill. Those receiving the honor of being tapped into the Beta Club were: Ann Hoover, Carol Moffitt, Gayle Sprinkle, Teresa Way, Larry Lassiter, and Worth Younts. Our activities included a trip to the State Fair.
In the fall of 1963 we returned to school with the title of Juniors. We were greatly aware of the re¬ sponsibilities ahead of us. Mrs. Betty Sue Miller and Mrs. Verna Russ were our advisors. Our class of¬ ficers were: President, Eddie Walker; Vice President, Worth Younts; Secretary, Joyce Cagle; Treasurer, Roy Yates, and Reporter, Carol Moffitt. The person re¬ ceiving the honor of being tapped into the Beta Club was Gerrelene McDowell. We began preparation for the Junior-Senior Banquet early. On May 8, 1964, our
plans and work came to life. Another occasion we looked forward to was the ordering of class rings, which was another step to becoming Seniors. As our part in graduation the Juniors carried archways for Class Night. Those chosen as Marshals were Carol Moffitt and Worth Younts, Co-Chiefs; other marshals were Gayle Sprinkle, Ann Hoover, Gerrelene McDowell, Teresa Way, and Larry Lassiter. We were sorry to see the Seniors leave, but proud of the fact that we would take their place.
We returned as Seniors in 1964. It did not take long for us to realize the tasks before us. We were all proud of our class rings because we felt we had earned the honor of wearing them. Our class officers were: President, Steve Henley; Vice President, Eddie Walker; Treasurer, Steve Routh; Secretary, Janet Hill; and Reporters, Carol Moffitt and Tim Vuncannon. Mr. Robert Allen and Mr. James Sledge were our advisors. Mildred Jarrell received the honor of being tapped into the Beta Club. Our initial task was the publishing of the "Far Echoes." The annual staff was selected and worked hard to make the best yearbook ever published.
For twelve years we have shared our joys and sorrows. We wish to express our sincerest gratitude to our teachers, parents, and friends for helping us reach our goal. As we part, each in his own direction, we are fully aware of our indebtedness to our school. May we be led by the Almighty God and be able to look back on our memories at Farmer High School.

CLASS PROPHECY
I ate too much the other night and suffered the con¬ sequences in the form of a dream. It was 1975 and all of my classmates were at a reunion, discussing their present roles in life. They went something like this ...
Betty Allmon and Betsy Sexton had just bought out Colonial Stores with the Gold Bond Stamps that we re left by the customers.
Marlene Bumgardner Hedrick was the wife of a prominent businessman, Rodger Hedrick. His business ? Marlene, naturally.
Judy Farlow's husband was the new manager of Service Distributing Inc. No. 4.
Dianne Garner and Carol Harvell were operating Randolph Public Library.
Nanci Gunter had just finished the sweater she started for Steve Routh the summer after our gradua¬ tion.
Brenda Handy had just bought out Handy Andy and had the cleanest business in town.
Glenda Hamilton and Butch Maness were co-owners of the Randolph Vauxhal Sales and Service. Butch was a little greasy from a white Vauxhal with black trim.
Brenda Hardister had on a pair of Beatle hose from New Hope Mills which she owned.
Margie Harris was wearing the blue ribbon she won in the Pillsbury Bake-off.
Janet Hill was a little tired from winning the Pow¬ der-Puff derby at Charlotte Motor Speedway driving a Mercury powered 1953 Ford pick-up.
Ann Hoover was operating Little Ruth's French School for Elderly French Teachers.
Mildred Jarrell didn't trust her husband's secre¬ tary, so she fired her and took her job so she could watch him.
Brenda Kindley and Mat were discussing their problem of finding a baby sitter to sit with their 9 child¬ ren.
Reba Kindley is governess over Phil William's es¬ tate and dairy farm. She looks after the work while Phil reads Hot Rod magazines.
Gerrelene McDowell owned a whole chain of Stop and Shop Curb Markets all across the country.
Lilly McDowell was just voted the nations top fe¬ male disc-jockey. The reason for her popularity is that she doesn't talk, but just plays music.
Dianne Pierce just won the U. S. Motorcycle cham¬ pionship for women. Judy Poole is her chief mechanic.
Linda Ridge had just returned from winning a pub¬ lic speaking contest in Chicago.
Genie Russell had won for the eighth straight, the Bus drivers Safety award from Queen City Trailways.
Nancy Smith was coach, manager, and promoter of the Farmer Fumblers basketball team. Star players are Roy Yates and Sidney Lowe. The cheerleading staff consists of Deloris Lewis.
Gayle Sprinkle had been granted a patent on a rev¬ olutionary new sprinkler system, called, Sprinkle's Sprinkler.
Nancy Staley Murphy and Charles stopped in on their way home with the groceries for their six kids.
Teresa Way finally got transferred to 3rd shift at Union Carbide and works beside Hal Hodgin.
Iris Waynick was Maintenance Director for The Randolph County Schools and had everything in A-l or¬
der.
Steve Harris had lost The National Skeet Shooting championship by a slim margin to his old shooting part¬ ner Kenneth Cranford.
Karl Elliot has the part of Chief Mechanical Engin¬ eer with the Kiser Jeep Corporation.
Carol Moffitt is preparing a case in behalf of Worth Younts, star third baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals, for breach of contract; they made him play.
Steve Henley, driving his '62 MG midget, just won the Sebring 24 hour endurance race.
Kenneth Lambeth was operating West Side Motor Co. His current project was getting the splotches of pink and white paint off a stop sign.
Larry Lassiter had just passed his C. P. A. exam and bought a new Sting Ray to celebrate.
M. H. Lewallen just took over the part of the retired Mr. Kruger, teaching Physics.
Richard Luther owned the largest small chicken ranch in this area. He now has 14,000 roosters and two
hens.
Hurley McBride was the Newest addition to the Highway Patrol in this district. Beware of a bright red,
semi-costomised V-8 powered jeep.
Larry McDowell was chief mechanic and Gary My¬ ers was chief driver for Halmon Moody, Inc. Their chief competition is a blue Chevelle driven by Jimmy
Snider.
Eddie Walker was di-essed in his uniform--Lieuten¬
ant Commander USAF.
Ronald York, following his discharge from the Air Force, was embarking on a political career on his way
to becoming Speaker of the House.
Tim Vuncanon has finally traded his 1955 Thunder-
bird for a 1960 Corvair.
Prophet, Tim Vuncannon
