WILL DISCOVER THROUGH MODERN DAY S.T.E.A.M (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS, MATH) PRINCIPLES. THIS CAMP IS DESIGNED TO INSPIRE THE SCIENTIST, NATURALIST,

ARTIST, AND ADVENTURER WITHIN AS WE IMMERSE OURSELVES IN THE OUTDOOR HABITATS OF CAPE MAY

HARBOR AND THE CENTER GROUNDS. 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. | $150/week

Must have a NJ Audubon Family Membership

WATER: FISH & FRIENDS Week One (June 28-July 2)

Water, water everywhere, especially in Cape May Harbor! Learn how important water is to the diversity of life in the harbor and in our oceans. We will investigate different species of fish and their marine environment friends and discover ways we can play an active role in protecting them.

FIRE: PRICKLY & POISONOUS Week Two (July 5-9)

Explore how animals and plants defend themselves. Sharp spines, crazy colors, and even daring dances have been used by animals and plants alike to help them stay off the dinner plate. We will observe these adaptations in nature, learn how to live alongside these unusual organisms, and learn why these misunderstood creatures are important to the ecosystem.

AIR: BIRDS, BEES & BUTTERFLIES Week Three (July 12-16)

There! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s…. everything that flies! This week we learn about aerodynamics and how creatures fly. We will explore the windy harbor and search for birds soaring overhead. How does weather affect flight? How does the air help us live? So much to investigate when we look up!

EARTH: BUGS & DIRT Week Four (July 19-23)

What is happening below our feet? Campers will delve into what makes soil so splendid for fantastic flowers and wiggly worms. We will explore the insect world through bug hunts, growing our own plants and getting acquainted with the different organisms that connect us to the earth.

FIRE: SURVIVOR Week Five (July 26 – July 30)

Our popular survivor week is back as we study how people have survived without modern luxuries. We will build a shelter and primitive tools, practice target games and create fire by friction. We will also investigate how fire plays a role in forest management as well as helping new plants grow!

AIR: OUT OF THIS WORLD Week Six (August 2-6)

Look skyward as we explore the stars and planets. What makes the moon glow? How is each planet in our solar system unique? We will look at constellations, learn about the phases of the moon, and see the tides in action. We are so happy to call Earth our home and we will discover what makes our planet so special!

WATER: ECO-SUPERHEROES Week Seven (August 9-13)

With all the powers of nature combined, we will be Planetary Superheroes! We will discover organisms with superhero qualities and uncover why some critters may be considered villainous. Be a Conservation Crusader taking care of the Earth, the ocean and all its inhabitants!

EARTH: STONES & BONES Week Eight (August 16-20)

We are ending our summer camp with a big bang! From dinosaurs to mammals, we will dig down deep in the dirt for fossil finds and radical rocks. How do bones give animals structure and strength? Get creative with cave paintings and rock art.

Adventure Camps Weeks and age restrictions vary

GUY BUCKELEW FISHING CAMP Week Nine (August 23-27)For children ages 9 and up
