A lot of mineral collectors lovetodigandsavetheirbestspecimens.Theyalsoliketogotomineralshowsandbuyspecimens.Sometimes,theyfindorbuyvery niceandveryexpen-sive specimens. Some of us collectnice, inexpensive specimens thatsimply make us happy. No matterwhat kind ofmineral collection youhave, there are 3 things you MUSTdo. If youdo these things, youwilltake better care of your specimens,youwillhaveahigherqualitycollec-tionoverall,andyouwillsimplyhavea more rewarding collecting experi-ence.Herearethethree“MustDo’s”forallmineralcollectors.
1.Number your specimens and keep a list. When you buy, find ortrade for a new specimen, immedi-atelyputanumberonit.Somepeo-plewriteorprintnumbersonpaperand glue them on the underside ofthespecimen.
