Welcome to our 2nd Annual Fall Sale! We are excited about what we have to offer this year for bulls, bred heifers and cows.

Even though this is only our second fall sale we have been in the Red Angus breed for coming up on 20 years! I can’t say we love every minute of it…but nearly every one. Its pretty good to get up every day and know you love what you do. This past March, we had a nasty blizzard that really made me not feel the love for a few days! 24 inches of snow and 60-70 mile an hour winds! I got pretty good at putting on tire chains, and big thanks to some wonderful people with a big tractor there to pull me out. The bulls offered here are out of our summer calving program. (Please read the catalog page on our different calving seasons for more information.) Even though these bulls have ran out for most of the year, we have really got to spend a lot of time with them. They have great attitudes and respect for people. They have been worked on foot, ATV and horse, so they are pretty willing to get along, and go along, with anything!

The females here are also easy to work with and great to be around. We are bringing you females that are the kind we like to keep for ourselves! The cows have calved out on the range and been great mothers, and the heifers have been developed for the same future.

Thank you for your interest in our cattle and our program! Feel free to contact us for more information, and stop by our place to visit and look at cattle anytime.

Sincerely,Jason & Kim

Spring & Summer Calving Program

It has taken a few years to get this program up and running, but the ideas behind it, the goals and defining principles have been in our sights for several years.

I think one of the most important defining principles for us is the fact that these are two different herds. Typically if an operation has two calving seasons I expect that lower fertility animals are given second… and third, chances. That is not the case here! We do not put open cows or heifers from one group to the next, opens are culled out of the herd because we select hard for fertility.

The way we run our operation we are spread out over 3 sides of the county, and actually run in 4 counties. These different locations are more naturally adapted to different calving times.

The other main driving factor in our two seasons is labor. We have pretty limited labor, and cutting every project we have in half — half for the spring herd, and half for the summer — really makes the best use of the labor we do have. (That being said we have such great people that work with us! Come meet them all sale day.)

We maintain a much smaller bull battery for our own herd with the two calving seasons. Between our use of AI and ET, along with the two seasons, we use about 8 bulls in what could easily take 24.

The same genetics that we have selected for over the years are in the summer program! We started this herd with embryos collected from the top producers in our spring herd, most of these being cows over 10 years old and well proven at the traits we strive for.

Great all around heifer or cow bull out a great little deep easy keeping cow. Excellent disposition. His 9 year old sire is still going strong and his daughters are top cows in our herd. The only spring born bull in the sale. He had a small lump before out January 2017 sale so we kept him. He healed completely and we used him as a clean-up bull for some commercial cows.

Lots 2 & 3 are full ET brothers. Good for heifers or cows. Out of Resiliance who sired our top selling bulls in January 2017. 702 his donor dam, has been an exceptional cow in our herd and is still producing well at 10 years old. She has great feet, leg and udder structure even at her age! Check out her MPPA. Always great dispositions on both sides of this pedigree.

Don’t overlook this guy! His dam is 17, and she doesn’t look like a heifer anymore… but the still is very sound and has an excellent udder. I especially like the Traveler 8180 behind her – a great foundation Angus bull. This bull didn’t wean off huge, I think just because of his dam’s age, he has more growth there than ww shows. Also nice high marbling bull.

She is 22 and we actually flushed her again last May. Her feet and udder have always been sound – how else do you get to that age! One of my favorite rare gems in this sale! This bull is super thick with an outstanding disposition. Full ET brother to lot 17. Chappie 6052 was a donor dam of Ole Redland’s when I worked for Cow Country Genetics. I thought she was an amazing cow then and never forgot her. Lots 27-32Bred Commercial Heifers

We have divided the heifers into 6 groups to help buyers get the exact females that fit their program.

Not just any heifers… The heifers we purchased were bought to develop, breed and offer to our customers as bred females. They are from sources well known to us, and I will give you a little background on each of them.

Cam & Abby HustonGood friends, that also work with us and our cattle year round. They have a great set of Red Baldy cows, and we are fortunate enough that we get to pick some heifers from their herd every year! Abby also owns Cowpokes Custom AI, and is a Genex Beef Representative, so these heifers have some great genetics. They have also used a K2 bulls over the years through AI and natural service.

Brant RanchThe Brant family near Wheatland has bought several K2 bulls over the last 10 years. They have a great set of red and red baldy cows. These cows have spent the summer in high elevations for generations and are well adapted to Wyoming range. We thank Terry Brant and his family for letting us pick some heifers from their herd, and we look forward to getting more for 2018.

Dale Oliver, Jason & Tycie LichteyWe have gotten to know this family through Dallas Mount who summers their cows near Wheatland. These heifers are out of K2 and Axtell Red Angus bulls. We love Axtell bulls ourselves, so they fit right in here. What a nice set of cows these heifers come from. I went to walk through them a few times this summer and they just gather around me. Good Red Angus mamas, and some people we have sure enjoyed getting to know that raise them. We have already purchased a set of heifer calves from them for the 2018 sale.

Home RaisedWe run our commercial cows right in with the registered cows. They get AI bred and then the same natural service sires that are with the registered cows. The goal for our commercial females is to raise top quality heifers to offer in this sale.

K2 Max RD 206 456 #1695077

Max was a high seller in our January 2015 sale to TY Cattle Co. He is a proven heifer bull, having been used in 7 different herds, and on his third calf crop now. His calves are born easy and up and going. They have a great disposition and we are very happy with his daughters. His sire, Redemption, is a well known, and proven heifer bull in the Genex line-up. His dam is a beautiful Basin Trend Setter daughter.

This cow family has done well in our herd for 4 generations.

21 22

K2 Resiliance 714 473 #1695027

Our natural service sires are half brothers out of our 2014 bull Resiliance, owned with Rennard Ranch of Lusk, WY. Resiliance sons were our high selling sire groups in our 2016 January bull sale. They are smooth made and long bodied, making great calving ease. Excellent disposition and good growth in these cattle. The dams of 637 & 687 have been good producers in our herd and have raised several calving ease sires.

714, the dam of Resiliance is a donor dam in our herd and still going strong and sound at 10. Her udder and foot structure are great and fertility that is great, never missing a

breeding season, even after producing 20 embryos in one flush she bred right back.
