The air is turning brisk, the leaves are starting to fall, & the days are growing shorter. It’s the time of year when we quilters, are thinking about Holiday gifts and start settling down to create beautiful quilts. Use the cash during our Holiday Affair Auction at the end of the year for great gift and quilt items. Take a Class...Earn Class Cash! Beginning Quilting 101 It’s a great time for Country Traditions . The teaching staff has been having a blast trying new technique rulers & tools to help make that perfect quilt. Beginning Quilting 101 ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FUN! Now, that the kids are back in school, why not spend some time doing something fun as well! If you have always wanted to try a new hobby like quilting, now is the time. Beginning Quilting 101: will teach you all the basics skills of quilting from picking out fabric, to cutting and sewing a perfect 1/4 inch seam. Learn about the basic terms and tools and how to use them as you complete your own unique Four-Patch and Half Square Wall Hanging. We will take it step by step in class so your quilt will be just as beautiful Learn how to paper piece in the beginner’s paper piecing class, “Feathered Star” class. Once you’ve learned the basics, you can try the more detailed quilts such as the Bright Star Flower or the In A Pickle. Add a little sparkle to the log cabin block! Diamond shapes are added to the traditional block to form a star in the center in the Timberline Log Cabin Quilt. In the Eldon , the Log Cabin Block is paired with a Star Block to create an simply elegant quilt. Needles, thread, and tension, “Oh My!” Learn to make them all work together in the TNT class to produce spectacular projects for years to come. A few new techniques have captured our interest. Learn how to cut, fold and sew your fabric to make a beautiful multi dimensional pillow in the Cathedral Window class. The Folded Circle Centerpiece also uses a special cut, fold, and sew to make your project “pop”. Or, take those long strip scraps and crochet a one of a kind vintage rug. Several classes will take us into the holiday season, like “Fall’s Finery” for Thanksgiving, a French Braid Tree Skirt and a simple “Charming Christmas” wall hanging will beautifully decorate your house. Serve your holiday guests in the “Oh Sew Pretty In Bloom” apron in one of our many new Christmas fabrics. We are listening to all our customers’ requests and trying to schedule a wide variety of classes to cover everyone’s interests. It’s a great time for Country Traditions . The teaching staff has been having a blast trying new technique rulers & tools to help make that perfect quilt.

Beginning Quilting 101

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FUN!

Now, that the kids are back in school, why not spend some time doing something fun as well! If you have always wanted to try a new hobby like quilting, now is the time.

Beginning Quilting 101: will teach you all the basics skills of quilting from picking out fabric, to cutting and sewing a perfect 1/4 inch seam. Learn about the basic terms and tools and how to use them as you complete your own unique Four-Patch and Half Square Wall Hanging.

As we look through patterns and books of beautiful quilts we can be amazed by how they are created. What looks challenging can be made easier with the proper tools. Learn to make a Dressden plate block in the “Sunday Best” class using the “EZ Dressden”tool. Use the “Lil’ Twister” tool to create a simple pinwheel wallhanging in the “Twisted Sixter class. Timberline Log CabinThe Timberline Log Cabin is another version of a standard Log Cabin. A quarter star embellishes the dark corner of each block. Four of these form a complete star at the quilts center.
