In fact, this last Thursday we received an email from the FL-GA District (LCMS) saying they’ve been told that there is enough water and canned goods, and to encourage people to make financial donations. They can then buy the necessary items needed. As stated last week there are a number of ways to do that. You can write a check, or give cash, by using the envelopes in the pew racks. Just write on the check and the envelope “Bahamas relief” and place it in the of- fering plate. You can also go to our web page, scroll down to Online Giving and click on “Make a donation.” That will take you to a screen where you can make a one-time donation, and there is an option you can click on called “Bahama Relief Fund.” Please continue to keep the Bahamas and its people in prayer as they begin the long and difficult road to recovery.

Volunteers Needed!

Small Group Orientation TODAY after late service (12:15 PM) A lite lunch will be served.

If you’d like to get more information about our small group ministry, or if you have an idea floating

around about a group you think you might want to lead, come to this Orientation. By attending

you’re not required to start a group, but it will give the information and tools you need to help en-

courage you. Being a small group leader is not hard, can be very rewarding, and can even bless

your socks off.

The devastation in the Bahamas has not gone away. Now into the third week since Hurricane Do-rian, we’re starting to see some movement in terms of organizations getting needed supplies into the area. Just write on the check and the envelope “Bahamas relief” and place it in the of-fering plate.

Wednesday, September 18, @ 2:30 PM-5:30 PM - New Day is having our annual Health and Wellness Fair on Wednesday, September 18th from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Services include Blood Pressure Check, Flu Vaccines, Physical Therapy screenings, hearing screening, and more! Everyone is wel-come to attend! Please see flyer for more details.

If you have any questions contact Chrissy at [email protected] or 561-844-0012.

A New Members Class will be held, Friday, October 11th at 7:00 PM here at the church in the Multi-Purpose Room, in the fel-lowship hall. All those who desire to become official members, as well as those who are seeking more information on our church, are welcome to come! We also encourage folks who have recently transferred in as members from another LCMS congregation to at-tend, as it’s a great way to get acclimated to this congregation.

New member classes here at Faith meet for only one or two ses-sions (so please keep Saturday morning open as well, even though we have never had to meet then.) Refreshments will be served and plan to be here until 9:30 PM or so.

The Power of Giving Thanks -

September 21 is World Gratitude Day.

The following tips are for putting the power of gratitude to work.

Look for it = Take a few moments throughout each day to identify

things, people and circumstances in your life for which you feed grateful.

Savor it = When you have what a “delicious moment” that sparks grati-

tude take a couple of deep breaths and focus on experiencing that mo-

ment and feeling .

Express/communicate it = Expressing gratitude is contagious. It’s an

easy way to give another person a lift and lift your own spirits in the pro-

cess.

CRAFT GROUP - WE NEED USED CANDLES

The Craft Group will be making Christmas ornaments from waxed candles. We only need white, red or green candles. Many of us now use battery operated candles and have used and unused can-dles we can get rid of. We will be melting them to form beautiful decorations to hang on your tree.

We need these as soon as possible as it takes time to prepare and melt the wax for our October 16th class. Come join us for the fun of making your own wax ornaments.

You may leave the candles in the church office or drop them in the box provided in the narthex. If you have any questions, call Judith Gonnerman 561-386-3218. Thank you for your support.

UPCOMING CRAFT CLASSES
