School 7 am
All planned events must be scheduled through the church office to ensure there are no scheduling conflicts.
The church is a dynamic and world-
changing force, Matt. 16:13-20. By God's design this
unstoppable force is more than human words can
describe. Yet, today's church is not seen or experienced
as such in our world and within many congregations. It's
easy to make church about ourselves and operate from
human standards. When our view of church is lowered
this way, we short-circuit God's original design and
diminish its power.
Do we realize the power that is available
to us? Do we have any concept of the power Jesus
intended for His church to wield in this dark and
dangerous world? Or, has our view become so lessened
that church is only a building where we go a couple of
times a week to see friends and increase our Bible
knowledge? Whenever the church follows the biblical
God design, God's Kingdom comes and transformational
conditions spread like wildfire. But, neglecting God's
divine design and relying on worldly power, becoming
proud, self-reliant, and overbearing it grows weak and
avoided and evil rules. The adage, "When all else fails,
follow the directions," is needed today. When we get
back to the basics we become all God intended us to be.

This year's VBS planning is underway. Volunteers are needed in a number of areas. We look forward to kick-starting our new VBS outreach for 2018. Our next Volunteer Meeting will be on Wednesday, June 20th at 6 pm.
Baby Bundles Update We delivered two additional Baby Bundles to Cherokee
Health Systems on Tuesday, June 5. The folks there are
so thankful for our involvement with the Baby
Bundles. In addition, we introduced the idea to a
neighbor of an FFCPC member, who is pursuing the
possibility of her women's group participating.
We have received two letters of thank you from mothers-
to-be who have each received a baby bundle. If you

now have a Baby Bottle (bank) to collect
donations! Look for it in the Narthex also. And
we can do your shopping for you!
Need Volunteers We may not be able to undertake building a house for
Habitat for Humanity, but we can still help. We will be
supplying lunch for the group of people in the process of
building a house in Lenoir City. This is a one-day event
for us. On Tuesday, June 26th, we will take lunch for
about a dozen workers, and of course, a few of us will
join them, i.e., the Ladies Lunch Bunch, and whoever
else wants to go. We are providing pulled pork barbeque
and the fixins. If you would like to help with food or
help to serve, contact Frances Poore at (865) 599-0083 or

FISH Pantry Collections
We are continuing to collect toiletries for the
West Knox Food Pantry (FISH) on an
ongoing basis. We have a container in the
Narthex to collect these and will take them
every month or so to the pantry when it is
our turn to deliver for FISH.
Gideons Card Ministry The Gideons International, founded in 1899 in
Wisconsin, is an association of Christian business and
professional men and their wives dedicated to telling
people about Jesus through sharing personally and by
providing Bibles and New Testaments. While they are
known worldwide for their work with hotels, they
predominately share Scriptures in schools and colleges,
prisons and jails, hospitals, and medical offices.
The Gideons have a card ministry that we would like to
share with our church. You may donate Bibles in
someone's name through this ministry. They have a
wide range of cards including sympathy, get well, thank
you, in memory, pastor appreciation, birthday,
recognition, and encouragement. We have placed a card
rack on the wall across from the large Sunday School
classroom at the west entrance to our church. To donate
Bibles to honor someone special, all you have to do is
choose a card, personalize the card by filling out the
blanks, add your message and send the card. To donate
Bibles, just complete the orange donation envelope
inside the card and mail it to The Gideons International
address on the front of the envelope.
Each $5 donation places a Bible in the hands of a person
who needs one anywhere around the world.
Flowers for the Altar
If you would like to provide flowers for the
altar in memory or in honor of someone,
please contact the office at (865) 988-8522
to let us know.
Kroger Community Rewards
The Kroger Community Rewards program is
helping us raise money for the CPWM. It is
an easy way to support our church and the
CPWM. Simply enroll your Kroger Card in
the program, following the link below. https://www.kroger.com/communityrewards
One misconception is that if you sign up for
the Community Rewards Program, you
won't get your fuel points. This is NOT
true! You will be able to do both!

Kentucky and Lincoln Memorial University in
Tennessee. Now they are awarding scholarships to a
total of 58 young men and women per year who are
trying to get out of the poverty cycle.
If you would like to be a participant in this program, they
are looking for help in two areas.

• First, they are looking for donations for these
scholarships. In addition to the 4-year
scholarships of $2500/year per student, they
supply them with a computer and printer to get
them started. Donations may be sent to Mission
of Hope, P. O. Box 51824, Knoxville,
TN 37950.
• Second, they are looking for mentors for each of
these students. If you think you would like to
become a mentor to a scholarship student, contact
the Mission of Hope office at (865) 584-7571.
As most of you know, our church has been involved with
Mission of Hope over the last several years, in delivering
school supplies and Christmas gifts to our "adopted"
school. In addition, the Women's Ministry (CPWM)
donates annually to the Scholarship Fund. Also, about
twice a year, our Noisy Offering is donated to
MOH. Please consider helping this worthwhile program!
The residents of Concordia Care Nursing Home
(formerly Kindred Nursing Home) in Loudon, that
FFCPC has been helping are extremely pleased with
their new clothing and other items including fresh
haircuts. We have received a new list from them for
additional items they would like to have. Here is their
Wish List: Socks with grip bottoms Body Wash Soft snacks, bread and butter pickles Diet Soda Easy adult coloring books Colored pencils Devotion books, large print if possible
Donate Your Eyeglasses!!
Do you have a few pair of old eyeglasses
just sitting in a drawer, taking up
space? Why don't you donate them at
church. We have a collection box in the
Narthex. When the box is full, we donate
those to the Farragut Lions Club. These
glasses are taken to a recycle center and then
the recycled glasses are distributed to people
in need in low and middle income
communities where they will have the
greatest impact. If you have any questions,
please contact Frances Poore at (865) 599-
0083 or [email protected].
FFCPC's Constant Contact Updates are communications to the congregation of the church to inform them of upcoming ministry, mission, and worship opportunities. If you have information that you want to communicate to the church, send an email with the information to [email protected]
Simple activities Picture books These wish lists are also available on the table in the Narthex.
