Census 2020 https://2020census.gov/en.html

By completing the Census, you will help ensure that federal dollars go into programs that matter in our community. The census provides critical data that lawmakers, business owners, teachers, and many others use to provide daily services, products, and support for our community. Every year, billions of dollars in federal funding go to hospitals, fire departments, schools, roads, and other resources based on census data.

The results of the census also determine the number of seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representatives, and they are used to draw congressional and state legislative districts.

You should have received your Census document in the mail. You can complete it and mail it back in or you can visit the Census 2020 website and complete the form online. It is required by law that you participate in the Census. If you do not reply by mail on online, you will be visited by a door knocker later this year to obtain your updated Census information.

Agency: • We are open. • We're prioritizing essential services and working to maintain physical distance. • Call us at 740-653-4146 – We are working by phone as much as we can to limit contact. • Our Main Facility remains open, but the doors are locked. • Call us at 740-653-4146 to speak with a Case Manager before coming in. If you don’t have a phone, go to our front door (facing main street) and ring the doorbell or knock loudly. • Non-emergency/Non-urgent services are temporarily suspended.

Food Pantry: • Our food pantry is open. • We are prepacking boxes of food in our food pantry rather than using our usual Choice Pantry method to limit people in the building, speed customer service, and to ease the burden on our staff as we have a high volume of food pantry customers at this time. • When you arrive, call 740-653-4146.

How you can help: • We've had several offers of volunteer assistance. • Thank you! But for now we are not accepting new volunteers • New volunteers in the building would defeat our efforts to physically distance. • This may change as the situation evolves, we will let you know. • We've also received financial donations to our food pantry, thank you! • The biggest thing you can to do help us right now is to help each other.

If folks can find and give help through Mutual Aid, it will take some of the pressure off of our formal social support systems.

Utilities: • We are processing HEAP and Winter Crisis applications. Call first to be sure you understand your options in this changing environment. We are trying to keep in-person interactions as brief as possible and talk by phone whenever possible. • Winter Crisis has been extended through 5/1/2020 • Regular HEAP has been extended through 6/1/2020 • You can also apply for HEAP online at http://www.energyhelp.ohio.gov/

Emergency Assistance: • We have limited funding for emergency rent assistance/homeless prevention if you are behind or facing eviction, please call us at 740-653-4146 • We are exploring additional emergency supports as funding becomes available.

Early Childhood: • Early Head Start and HelpMeGrow Home Visitors are working with families through Phone and Zoom when possible. • Ohio Early Intervention services are being provided virtually. Please continue to refer children under the age of 3 with any developmental concerns. • Head Start centers are closed through at least 5/1/2020 • Head Start is currently on Spring Break through 4/3/2020 • Starting on 4/6/2020, Head Start Teachers will begin working families virtually.

Home Repairs and Weatherization: • Home repairs and weatherization are suspended except for emergency health and safety repairs.

Shelter and Rutherford House: • Our Family Shelter is operating, but is full. • Rutherford House continues to serve residents. We’re working to help folks stay safe.
