WIRELESS ACCESS FACULTY, STAFF, STUDENTS AND SPONSORED GUESTS MACINTOSH WIRELESS SET-UP Joining a Macintosh Computer with any version of OS: 1. Open “System Preferences” and choose “Network”. On the left side menu, verify the Wi-Fi (Airport) is turned on. If it is not, click the button “Turn Wi- Fi On”. Also, check the box “Show Wi-Fi Status In Menu Bar”. 2. Close System Preferences. 3. Click the “Airport” Icon in the menu bar. 4. Choose the “eduroam” wireless network. You will be asked to “Authenticate to network - Ohio University”. Click Continue. 5. You will have to type your “OHIO Email Address” (OHIO [email protected])" and your “OHIO ID password”. Also click “Connect Automatically”. 6. Accept the new security certificate. 7. If prompted to update your trust settings, enter your computer username and password. Click “Continue”. 8. Enjoy the NextGen wireless! HOW TO FIX WI-FI ISSUES: Forget & Re-Add The OHIO network How to delete and re-add the “eduroam” Wireless Network If your computer has trouble connecting or staying connected to the “eduroam” wireless network, try resetting your computers Wi-Fi profile: 1. Make sure you have connected your Mac to the “eduroam” wireless network at least once before proceeding. 2. Open System Preferences and choose Network. On the left side menu, verify the Wi-Fi (Airport) is turned on. If it is not, click the button “Turn Wi-Fi On”. 3. In the box Network Name: Choose “eduroam”. 4. Choose the advanced tab on the bottom right. 5. Choose “eduroam” under preferred networks. 6. Press the “-“ (minus) key to delete the “eduroam”. 7. Click “OK”. 8. Click “Apply” and close the “Network” preference pane. 9. Click the “Airport” Icon in the menu bar. 10. Choose the “eduroam” wireless network.
