Our role: Full-cycle façade design and

project management.

1st project of future ITL Engineering team as a part of BIAL

Group.

National Library of Belarus Republic, Minsk

(2004-2006)

It was the 1st large-scale project with

spider glazing system in the country. In

the absence of Belarusian standards

and technical support for this type of

glazing on the republican level, our

engineers conducted the unique

analysis based on the EN and British

standards, and created basis for the

following similar construction projects

in the country.

OUR HISTORY


(2004-2006)

A very complex three-dimensional structure of the

building (rombokubooktaedr) and the requirements

of the architects (of the ideal form), as well as

responsibility for object - as a symbol of the

country, coupled with the reduction of standard

construction period almost in half - created an

additional burden on all participants of the

construction process.

For this, the unique measurements of the building were carried

out by our team, with the creation of our own network of

reference points and transfer of additional points on all 26

planes of depository. It was an unprecedented work in our

country in terms of scale, accuracy and speed.

Significant excessive deviations of the concrete body geometric

shape also added to the difficulty of our task. Before our team

there was a challenging task to fulfill the set of requirements in

spite of all these obstacles.

Business Bay Hotel, Dubai, UAE,

(2006-2008) Scope of works:

Complete Facade Design:

-building facade design (set of drawings with

detailed solutions for all the facade connections),

-structural calculations, development of unique

brackets,

-elaboration and design of the hanging

constructions («Cube», «Fly»),

-elaboration of the fabrication drawings,

-system testing at a local laboratory.

Project management:

-development of the project documentation,

-periodical reports to the Client – quality of works

and time schedule,

-management of the project budget,

-system testing,

-coordination with the Architect and Façade

Consultant,

-fabrication supervision, quality control,

management of the material orders,

-installation supervision, quality and schedule

control,

-coordination with adjacent works – lightning

protection, BMU, etc.

Basing on the structural calculations, relevant Halfen

channels were cast into post-tensioned concrete and

afterwards original steel brackets were fixed to the cast-ins

Different types of connections, stepped facades, hanging facades

supported by a steel substructure – all these have been designed

by our design team, produced and installed under our close control

and supervision

participants of the project was supported by step-by-step

planning in Microsoft Project and a proficient reporting

system

Our team started working on the Evolution Tower project at

the end of 2011

By that time, several attempts to elaborate the façade concept of this extraordinary building were made by various companies - manufacturers of

facades, but none of them satisfied the customer..

We have signed a façade consultancy contract with the Client – City

Palace Ltd.

Tehnologica has developed the basic façade design solutions (along with the initial

structural and thermal calculations), a 3-D model visualization of façade surfaces, the

Technical specification and other documents of the tender package.

Price offers based on the requirements of our tender package, submitted to the

Client by tender participants, were significantly lower than the cost of the proposals prepared previously by the

same companies themselves (the level of difference was in millions of euro).

The prequalification of participants and tender itself have been

organized by us and conducted in March 2012

In May 2012 the façade contract has been awarded to one of the

leading companies in the world (in the field of complex facades) -

"Josef Gartner" (Germany)

After that, Tehnologica for 14 months was involved in the development,

analysis and control of the working documentation for the facades. Almost

unprecedented form of the building, complex deformation model of

reinforced concrete structure, as well as accepted by the Client in the course of

design project decision to use cold-bent (cold deformed) glass for the building

demanded great efforts from everyone involved.

The height of the building is about 250m

One of the most "twisted" buildings in the world

(each slab is turned to the previous one by 3 degree,

the overall vertical axis rotation of the tower - 150

degrees)

Applying cold-deformed glass (35 000 m2 – it is also

had no analogues in the world)

After commencement of façade installation the role of Façade

consultant (in terms of procedures monitoring and analysis of results) has

been given to façade department of the general contractor "Renaissance

Construction".
