The Director of the European Centre for Women and Technology (ECWT), Chair of the Global Women and Technology (GWT) Network and European Affairs Manager at the Regional Innovation Centre Papirbredden Innovasjon, Eva Fabry, visited Doukas School on Tuesday 11/02/2014. She was accompanied by Maria Sangiuliano, gender equality expert researcher and coordinator for ECWT’s Italian national point of contact and Dimitris Raftopoulos (title to be added) Mr. Konstantinos Doukas, Director of Doukas School presented the educational vision of Doukas School and elaborated on a number of European projects that the school is currently involved in. Mrs. Fabry showed particular interest in the SoC School on the Cloud Connecting Education to the Cloud for Digital Citizenship Summit. This historic event will bring together educators and innovators from around the world. It will be held at the Dais Conference Center on the Doukas School premises on Saturday, 22 March 2014. This meeting aims to investigate ways the Cloud can be used as a value-added component in Education. The prominent visitors visited several classes, experiencing the 1:1 Model. Students in both primary and junior high school used their tablets as part of the Geography and Foreign Language lessons. Fruitful discussion followed their tour leaving both sides open to future collaboration.
