Starting in November, for every dollar you spend in advance of the auction you will get quilting bucks. At the auction, you can use the bucks to buy books, paerns, kits, and other surprises. No real money will be accepted during the auction. We have the calendar full with classes and UFO’s. We are also going to be starting a free block of the week on Facebook. Follow Fabric Expressions on Facebook, and each week I will post a link for a paern for you to print. e link is only good for two weeks. If you do not print the paern in that time you will not be able to get the paern until the end when a CD will be available to purchase. is will start in September there is more information on the back page. Do you like Mysteries? We have started a new mystery quilt. It runs for six months. Each month, there is a new clue for you. All you have to do is come in each month to pick up your clue. e mystery is free as long as you come in and pick up your clue. If you miss a month, it is $3 per month to get the clues. Needlework around the World, Mainland USA: Come travel the world with us with the Needlework Club. We will explore di#erent types of needlework and motifs from various parts of our country. !e projects for this summer will con-centrate on unique and native American cultures. We study the Amish, the early American eastern seaboard, the Seminole Indians, and the Mimbres Indians of the Southwest. Projects using these new techniques will include an apron, a “thread roll”, a sewing machine cover, a tape measure cover. !is will be an exploration, discussion, demonstration-type class. !e Women of the Bible Pa"ern Series will be a traditional block of the week: Fabric & block pa"erns for 40 weeks, se"ing instructions & bor-ders for the 41st and 42nd weeks. Each week I will post a link on Face-book for you to print the block instructions. !e link will only be good for two weeks. !en it will be gone. It is up to you to print them. If you miss some or start later you can buy a CD with all the pa"erns at the end. !e pa"ern is designed to work well with a variety of fabrics. Choose a fabric line, or go scrappy. !e quilt is a king sized quilt, but you can make it smaller by changing the borders. !roughout this pa"ern series, you will be introduced to several Wom-en of the Bible through individual quilt blocks. Each pa"ern begins with historical references and devotional re'ection. At the end of each pa"ern, space is provided for your own personal re'ection. You can use this space to recall your personal thoughts regarding the Bible character described, or you can use the space to re'ect on your process/progress when con-structing the quilt. Your completed journal will become a cherished treasure to accompany your %nished keepsake quilt. We will start this project on Monday, Sept 22. I will also have blog post about the construction of the blocks. If you want to sew the blocks in a group se"ing, we will be meeting on the %rst !ursday of the month start-ing in October.
