Implementation of a El Corte Inglés, a typical shopping center installed all around Spain. The plan organized a park area above an under-ground parking an a reservation for a new justi-ce headquarters with a tall building typology.

The shopping building is identyfied by a big gre-en glass box floting in a lake area, creating an impressive cantiléver in the entrance zone. The composition was finished by juxtaposition of a tall building for the new facility.

MASTERPLAN OF A SHOPPING CENTER AND A JUSTICE PALACE IN BADALONA

Since Solà-Morales won the Competition of the waterfront and harbour of Badalona there have been lots of design to distribute the high density of edification on the masterplan. The last one was so complited that couldn’t be done in the global crisis context.

This design had the purpose of giving a resolu-tion for this conflicto in the way of create a new recognizable urban skyline, and a realistic distri-bution for the whole new housing.

BADALONA WATERFRONT REDEFINITION

Design and landscape integration of a residence for elderly people in Serralada de Marina Natural Park in Badalona. The state of the terrain, an splanade with a little slope and its clearly delimi-ted borders, a stream and two slopes, define the solution of functional program-site.

The different room units rule the height steps of the terrain, generating big courts which keep rooms and sorrounding nature in contact. This distribution takes advantatge of good orientation for the majority of the rooms. The facilities are in a single body that connects the whole building.

RESIDENCE FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE IN BADALONA

Masterplan for old and out of service industrial area that have been kept inside residencial neighbourhoods to change their use. The plan tries to take advantatge of existing qualification, such as facility and urban park, to reconsider the necessity of new distribution of house density from city center to sorroundings.

The porpousal is to keep their public use and add some space to build defining the public-private areas. At the same time, a central area can be desdensified to achieve a domestic public space servicing an existing public facility.

CHANGE OF USE MASTERPLAN OF OLD FACTORY AREAS IN BADALONA

Graduation Project. Badalona has in its city center a unique spot to create a domestic public space and a new facility involved to a housing develop-ment by reconnecting an unfinished historical street. This is posible by means of substitution of obsolet old industries.

The new theatre is related to a drama school whom gives its function. The typology of the theatre is experimental, which combines to the other existing types in the city. The two volumes identify both main functions and a great porch generates the public-private relation and the entrance.

THEATRE AND URBAN RESTORATION IN BADALONA CITY CENTER

The corner position allows a special place where a financial company could set up its headquar-ters. The program consists in a complex of exhibi-tion rooms, dwellings and offices. The elevations were designed to begin from walls growing slightly towards softy plan bendings.

Public circulations are distributed by stylized slope, beggining in the entrance court, which developes the lenghtness of the building shape. Officers and facility users share the slope until their ways take apart. Dwellings entrances are beside streets.

BANK FOUNDATION HEADQUARTERS IN GLORIES SQUARE OF BARCELONA

Superposition of a sport complex with a shopping and leisure center and a central bus station. This multi-functional area, which concentrates crow-ded pedestrian circulations, becomes a new city center for Lloret de Mar. The design is composed by high-scale elements closedly related to the city-scale.

The main element is a filled stadium, sorrounded by a casino, a gymnasium and an arena near the consolidate urban structure. An impressive flat roof envelopes the whole complex and produces the specific space for the bus station. Finally, a basement concentrates shopping, leisure and parking areas by openning a lenght hole and a covered undergrounded square.

SPORT CAMP AND LEISURE AREA IN LLORET DE MAR

Residencial unit based in a highly ruled design. An asymetric grid provides the place for a dou-bled composition pattern. That pattern organizes three different multistorie typologies, from the tallest to the smallest: tower, block and corridor building.

Public spaces have been distinguished by their distance to main ways and its openned-closed characteristics. There can be found three type of public areas: plaza, domestic square and private open spaces. There can also been observed three types of streets: main avenue, comercial street and residencial street.

NEIGHBOURHOOD IN ZONA FRANCA OF BARCELONA

Two strong shaped buildings distribute 150 ap-partments in three basic typologies: dúplex, sim-plex-loft and flat appartment. The porpouse is to mix office and housing functions in a one single element repeated in both sides of a central squa-re.

The terrace layout, combining doubled and sin-gled space, produces an image of perfored eleva-tion aproaching deepness sense. The design of an special lift body with a corridor system let the section to be singular and the shape to be adap-table to the changing kind of appartment.
