A catalog of selected works by artists of the Photography Students Association of the University of Houston's. This catalog corresponds with the Exposed exhibition at the Alabama Song Houston gallery.

Adrienne Elyse Meyers is currently studying Fine Art at the University of Houston. A native Houstonian, collector of trinkets, and art lover, she works in a range of mediums, including drawing, collage, and writing.

Allyson Huntsman is a Photography/ Digital Media Major at the University of Houston on her way to receiving her BFA in 2015. Huntsman’s conceptual work focuses on family and environmental issues and portraiture.

Andre Brooks is a native Houstonian and recently made it into the UH PDM Block program where he will finish his college years. After Andre finishes shcool, he plans to pursue photograhing all styles as a Freelace Photographer for various types of clients.

Angel lartigue

Based in Houston Texas and currently studying Photography/Digital Media at the University of Houston. Angel is interested in forming a local collective for site-specific collaborative projects.

ANDREW SOSA

Born and raised in Houston Texas, Andrew J Sosa has mainly worked in digital printing, video art and C-prints, creating photograms. Currently studying at University of Houston as a undergrad working on his BFA, Andrew likes working with lights and lasersusing long exposures to capture and create photograms on c-print paper Currently exploring self portrait through video and photography Andrew’s next work explores depression and issues of self.

Asad Badat is a native Houstonian and a candidate for a Bachelor of Fine Arts studying Photography/Digital Media. His photographic and video works explore the themes of struggle, self-identity, and culture.

BRENDA CRUZ

Brenda Cruz is a recent MFA graduate from the University of Houston. She uses found imagery, video and photography to explore identity as a way to better understand the self andsocietal noramalcy.

BRENDA FRANCO

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Brenda Franco has long been interested in social interactions within cultures and the ways gender, race, and ethnicity play a role in this conversation. In the Flea Market series, she seeks her own cultural understanding through portraits of the business owners, employees, customers and long-time visitors of the Airline Flea markets in Houston, TX.

She is currently a BFA Photography/Digital Media Major at the University of Houston.

CRYSTAL MARTINEZ

Born in 1987 in San Antonio TX, Crystal Martinez is an up and coming Artist living in Houston. She is a current graduate from the University of Houston with a Bachelors Degree in Photography/Digital Media and an Associate Degree in Photography from ST. Philip’s College in San Antonio TX. Her art work reflects her views on social and political issues.

JEFF BRADLEY

Jeff Bradley is a visual and sound artist currently living in Houston, TX and earning his MFA at University of Houston. Born in the badlands of New Mexico and raised by coyotes after his parents abandoned him beside some train tracks, Bradley was abducted by aliens at age ten and taken to Alpha Centauri where he began his studies in human form and sonic art. Upon returning to Earth he was fully grown, aged 21. During his eleven years with the greys Bradley gained much secret knowledge in-volving the origins of the Universe. This is the message he tries to impart in his visual and sound art.

JENNA KRIPAL

Jenna Kripal is an MFA photography student at the University of Houston. Her video and photography work focuses on topics with which she identifies, such as gender, memory, and relationships.

Julia Davila is a twenty-something recent University of Houston graduate. She has a degree in Print Journalism and a minor in Studio Art.

LAURA GReIVENkAMP

Laura Johnson Greivenkamp was born and raised in the Houston area. She worked for many years as a software engineer as a NASA contractor for the Space Shuttle program. She decided to reinvent herself as an artist. She has a BFA degree in Photography and Digital Media from the University of Houston.

MARLENE PANAKEZHAM

Marlene Panakezham is an artist with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from the University of Houston and a minor in Art History. Her work ranges from painting and ceramics to printmaking and photography. She is passionate for purple, animals (especially lions & dinosaurs), Disney, and anything creatively inspiring. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she adores the diversity of her hometown and all its wonderfully diverse people and personalities.

MAUREEN PENDERS

Maureen Penders, is currently a student in the Block Photography program at the University of Houston. Born in El Salvador in 1988, she moved to Houston TX in June 2009. She works with traditional processes to explore social themes, culture and gender studies.

RICHARD CUSTER

Richard Custer lives and works in Houston, TX. His work incorporates print and video to explore issues of individuality and self-awareness in an increasingly polarized world which forces people to conform to a standard. Currently, Richard is using portraiture to explore the projection and perception of individuals holding and not holding loaded firearms.

A veteran of the Unitevd States Air Force, Richard is currently a student at the University of Houston (UH). He is earning his BFA in Photography and Digital Media and will graduate from the program in 2015.

SCOTT HOUG

My name is Scott Houg, I am a Photo/DM major. I have been working with both traditional 35mm film and digital photography. This nar-rative series is called “She’s gone!” which was inspired” by Duane Michaels and Gregory Crewdson.

SIDNEY GARRETT

20 years young. Currently studying photography at the University of Houston. Likes to be both behind and in front of at the same time. Has two dogs. Likes to dance. Terrified of roller coasters and large spaces. obsessed with gummy bears. Likes long walks on the beach.

VICTORIA GONZALEz

T his series led me to my acceptance into the Photo/Digital Media Program at the University of Houston. I will graduate with a BFA in 2016. Much of my work centers on themes of existence, gender and sexual identity. In the future, I hope to explore ways to juxtapose forms of linguistics with my photography.

Yunuen Gonzalez Arellano is a sophomore Photography/Digital Media student at the University of Houston. She is ointerested in both traditional black and white and digital photography.
