Programme Overview

The “Food Hygiene Training & Standards Award” is run in accordance with the “Safer Food” guidelines developed by The World Health Organisation (WHO) and Codex Alimentarius food standards and are used throughout this programme.

Basic training Programme / Level 1Recommended to be completed by all staff as induction before handling food.

Module 1 Introduction to Food SafetyTopics include: The importance of food safety. Food hygiene defined. Responsibility of food hygiene in the workplace. Food contaminants & controls. What is food poisoning and who are the most vulnerable groups in society?

Meet The Team

Optimum Results lead Trainer / Consultant Associate in Systems, Operational Efficiency, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement, Gerry has worked with both SMEs and blue-chip corporates in Ireland, the USA, UAE and Saudi Arabia over the past 13 years. A formally qualified trainer, he is an Enterprise Ireland approved lean practitioner, facilitating many programmes to clients in the Manufacturing, Precision Engineering and Software sectors. Gerry holds a BSc in Applied Physics; MSc. in Applied Physics and MBS in Safety, Health & Welfare at Work and is a trained HIQA auditor.

Frank McGlone

Managing Director of Optimum Results / Customer Perceptions since 1995, Aidan has over 30 years’ successful management experience across several SME sectors. Originally a Commerce student in his native Cork, Aidan holds an MSc in Executive Leadership, has two ‘Business Counselling’ qualifications and is a formally qualified trainer. He a Graduate & Fellow of both the Marketing Institute of Ireland and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants & Business Advisers, a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management and prominent in a number of other Business circles in Ireland and overseas.

Frank has been a Senior Trainer and Consultant with Optimum Results for twelve years where he leads the Company’s SME client work in such areas as Management & Leadership Skills Development, Business Strategy, Internationalisation / Early Exporters and Organisational Change & Growth. A graduate and postgraduate of the University of Ulster, Frank is a nonexecutive Director and/or Chairman of a number of Companies, this also bringing very valuable experience to his training, consultant and lecturing work.

Following her early career, Deirdre (Dee) Clune worked with Optimum Results Ltd as one of its senior HRM/D Trainer & Consultants during which time she also led the team delivering the National HR Standard, “Excellence Through People” to hundreds of public and private sector clients. Subsequently, she was HR & Recruitment Director for Herts Europe and HR Director of the 15,000 people Noonan organisation before returning to Optimum Results in 2016 as Director of Training Services. Dee holds a Masters in Business Studies, is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel Development, a Fellow of the International Institute of Training & Development and a Member of the Institute of Management Consultants and Advisors.

Richard Sherlock is an Occupational Safety and Health Professional with over 12 years of experience in regulatory compliance and risk reduction for multiple industries including manufacturing, construction, facilities, leisure and events. He has also worked with many high-profile companies on projects which included Quality Assurance, Environmental Management, Continuous Improvement and Health & Safety. A formally qualified trainer, Richard holds a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc Hons) in Quality Management together with the NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. He is also a member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health and the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management.

Richard Sherlock

With over 15 years’ experience within the food industry, Sunnibha has been providing both accredited and tailored training courses across all sectors of the Food Industry. She initially qualified in Applied Biology and Food Science in Ireland before completing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) honours degree in Food & Nutrition in University of Huddersfield (UK). Her early career was with a leading food and water testing laboratory where she progressed to quality/technical manager and achieved IS17025 and UKAS accreditation. In addition, Sunnibha holds a first-class honour in Further Training and Continuing Education and is a registered trainer with Environmental Health Association of Ireland (EHAI) and an associate member of The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. A great believer in continuing per-sonal development,Sunnibha completed the IRCA certified Lead Auditor FSSC/IS22000:2010 Training course which has significantly broadened our scope of Training & Consultancy services in this field.
