The range of inflatable liferafts marked Med includes models with basic equipment and solutions, as well as models that are equipped with additional accessories comply with the strictest International standards. These liferafts ensure a high safety level to people who face extremely and insidious navigations. Liferafts are manufactured in bright colours which can be easily sighted even in case of reduced visibility.

Their design is characterized with a wide entrance to facilitate rescue operations and guarantee shelter from adverse weather conditions. Big water pocket sensure great stability even during hard sea. All products are manufactured through process in compliance with the standard ISO 9001:2008 issuedby RINA, the Italian body Authority.

1. A special fabric called Aritech® was created by our technicians exclusively for these rafts and it is incredibly resistant totearing and perforation. It is double-sided and plastomers make it also resistant to long time exposure to an extreme marine conditions.

2. A special hi-frequency thermal welding technology, replacing the use of glues, delivers an excellent performance of the inflatable tubes. Specialised laser-cutting machines guarantee high quality production standards.

3. An exclusive “screw” fastening substitutes standard straps which can deteriorate and break over time assuring a perfect sealing and water tight seal.

4. When it is not required by the regulations in force in the country, MED’s liferafts can be inspected every 3 years, reducing the maintenance cost. In this way it is inspected only 4 times during the 12 years warranty period.

5. A Worldwide service stations network, which you can consult on www.gruppomed.it, guarantees a fast, professional and competitive inspection service wherever you are. All MED authorized service stations use certified equipment and tested processes. They are periodically subject to tests ensuring quality serviceand high operating standards.

6. If you unfortunately happen to use one of our liferafts, we will contact you to ask for your experience with our liferaft inorder to improve our products. You will also receive a new liferaft free of charge to navigate again safely.

7. MED products are supplied to various Italian State Bodies (Coast Guard, Port Authority, Police, Army, Navy, Civil Protection, Firefighting forces and others). This allows us to actively collaborate with professionals using our products in extreme and often dangerous situations. Thanks to our skills, we offer performing and safer liferafts for leisure boating market.

Liferafts created, designed and manufactured entirely in Italy by a trained staff with a pastlong experience, lead the company to be an European leader on safety equipment. The new MED liferafts meet the main ship-ownerneeds: get a lighter and more compact liferaft, guaranteeing high reliability of a product for saving lives at sea.

Thanks to our technical department’s efforts, passion and experience, constant research of new production systems and materials, we can definitely introduce into the market the lightestand more compact liferaft that we have ever produced.

An updated production line, a new way of manufacture and special raw material have enabled us to reduce

dimension and weight ofaround 10% over the whole series. Through an efficient quality system and strict controls during the production process andon the finished product, we give 12 guarantee years on fabric and welding (guarantee is kepton track only if liferafts are regularly serviced by an approved MED service station).

Every liferaft is carried on with their own ID Card where are indicated beside its main features the chronology of all inspections included service station name and number. In order to understand if the inspection has been made by authorized staff only, the MED logo must be printed and not affixed with a stamp. Only original MED spare parts ensure reliability and maintain liferafts’ performance overtime.

ISO range of MED liferafts has been enriched with a new version of ISO 9650-1 group. A greater than 24 hours. The Atlantic PG is a combination of a standard ISO 9650-1 and a grab-bag which contains, following ISO Regulation, all necessary equipment to make the liferaft complies

to the pack 1. This liferaft meets all the needs of ship-owners who navigate without limit from the coast. Canister is made from ABS while grab-bag in waterproof fabric, instead of a rigid container it is selectable a fabric valise. It is available with capacity of 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 persons.

In all Countries where there are no Regulations or an ISO liferafts is not mandatory, the Sea World MED liferaft strengthenits market position. Thanks to the new improvements put in place, compared with the previous International and Int. Offshore model we have reduced weight by 4% and volume by 17% resulting extremely light and easy to

handle. Both P and L version are packed into canister or valise with a capacity of 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 persons. L version is suitable for coastal navigation as its equipment is reduced than the P version whose equipment it is formost demanding navigations. The thermal insulated floor included in P version ensures protection from cold water.

CROATIAAtlantic C HR, complies with ISO 96560-1 group A greater than 24 hours available following the requirement of pack 1 for navigation in Ia and II area. While pack 2 for navigation in IIa, III and IV area conform to the Croatian Regulations. Inspection mandatory required every 2 years.

UNITED KINGDOMAtlantic L, complies with ISO 9650-1 group-A less than 24 hours for all non-commercial vessels, such as racing yachts. Inspection mandatory required every 3 years.Open Sea B, complies with ISO 9650-1 Type -1 Group - A and has in addition a Solas B survival pack ensuring that it meets the latest requirements for Small Commercial Vessels operating in categories 2-6, up to 60 miles from a safe haven. Inspection mandatory required every year.

SPAINOpen Sea, approved by Ministerio de Fomento and conformed to cat. B zone 2 and 3 within 60 miles from the coast. Inspection mandatory required every year.

GREECESea World GR, with significant reduction of weight and volume this liferaft meet the standards in force in Greece and it is equipped with a special first aid kit as it is required by the Greek Minister. Inspection mandatory required every year.

PORTUGALLUSO Safe, the most common liferaft on board of fisherman boats conformed to art.° 133 do Regulamento dos Meios de Salvacao aprovado pelo D.L. n.° 191/98 10th July and its following amendment D.L. n.° 9/2011 18th January. Inspection mandatory required every year.

ITALYCoastal Light, conforming with Italian decree D.M. March 2nd 2009 this liferaft has been developed for coastal navigation within 12 miles from the coast. First inspection mandatory required after 3 year, the following every 2 years.Oceanus C, conforming with Italian decree D.M. no. 219 August 12th 2002 and used for no limit navigation. Inspection mandatory required every 2 years.Oceanus PG, complies with ISO 9650-1 with the same task of the Oceanus C but the equipment is packed into a separate grab-bag. With this feature liferaft result more handy. Inspection mandatory required every 2 years.

SAFETY OF LIFE AT SEA The Liferaft is the final emergency resource which people at sea have to rely upon: MED has been manufacturing Liferafts for almost 30 years with passion and being awareness of protecting the life of every one choosing our products.

MED’s liferafts are manufactured in compliance with the highest quality standards together with the most advanced available production processes and technologies.

The range of MED Safety Commercial Liferafts consists of SOLAS / MED approved products and of specific products for fishing or chartering; they are divided into DEEP SEA, for navigation use without any limit from the coast, and F.O.R.C. for charter vessels operating Worldwide.

They are available into the versions Davit Launch, Davit Launched/Self Righting, and Throw Overboard/ Self Righting. They comply with the SOLAS regulations (Safety of Life at Sea) with the requirements of Marine Equipment Directive (MED) 96/98/EC and its further amendments and, as well as with IMO (International Maritime Organization) resolutions; These were all approved by RINA.

The MED Commercial Liferafts can be installed on all ships engaged in Domestic and International Navigation on a commercial basis (Passengers transporting, Cargo and so on) and on a leisure basis. According to the navigation requirements, these can

be equipped with either Emergency equipment “A” or “B” pack Type. The MED Commercial Liferafts are folded into fibreglass canisters which have been specifically designed to withstand the stresses of an extremely harsh marine environment. They are available in the following versions: “Roll” cylindrical canister or “Flat” rectangular canister. The container options can both be installed individually on specific flat or inclined cradles alternatively they can be installed in stacked pairs once again flat or inclined.

DEEP SEA - DAVIT LAUNCHED - SELF RIGHTING

The liferaft DEEP-SEA SR-DL is a modern inflatable device. Davit launched and Self Righting it is available in the following versions 35, 37 and 40 persons SR-DL allowing SR-DL to meet all the ships requirements for passenger transport and Ro-Ro.

The DEEP-SEA SR DL Liferafts were approved by RINA according to the latest IMO-SOLAS regulations and subsequent amendments including the new IMO amendments.

MED Srl is the only company in the World to gain approval for the 40 persons model, therefore this is the currently the only model in the market today. This is a very important goal achieved by MED SpA now a leader of change in passenger transport. DEEP-SEA SR-DL are approved to USCG (US Coast Guard) as well and as valid across the World.

DEEP SEA - THROW OVERBOARD, THROW OVERBOARD - SELF RIGHTING

The Self Launch DEEP SEA liferafts are available for 6 to 40 persons, in fibre glass rigid canister. Flat and Roll type with a 18 and 25mtr height of stowage they represent the result of modern technology applied to the protection of life at sea. The models 6 to 25 person are Self Launching type and the 40 persons model is Self Launching / Self Righting.

New DEEP-SEA COMPACTNew to the MED liferaft range is the SOLAS MED model DEEP SEA COMPACT which is a testament to the continuous advance in technological research and focus by MED Srl toward innovation and adaptation to suit current market needs.

MED has created a liferaft which optimises both space and weight limitations and delivers a 30% reduction against existing standards. The new range targets smaller commercial working vessels and larger yachts where space and weight distribution are of greater relevance. The range consists of 8 models, each available as either A or B pack in sizes 6, 8 or 10 persons. Available as either a flat canister made from

ABS UV Resistant material or a cylindrical canister made of GRP.

The new 12 person canister, flat and cylindrical, are both of GRP construction. All containers offer excellent compact dimensions.

F.O.R.C. - FERRY OPEN REVERSIBLE COASTAL LIFERAFT

The liferafts FORC, to be used for a coastal navigation, are manufactured with the same highest standards of each Arimar®’s products and they comply with the requirements of International Directives (IMO/SOLAS),together with the most advanced production processes and available technologies.

• The liferafts FORC, available in the following versions 25/50 and 100 persons, are manufactured to be reversible and always ready to use

• The big diameter of the tubes allows a high stability at sea

• The special tissue Ari-tex (app. Solas) of the FORC liferafts is realized to resist to corrosion and abrasion

• The external cylindrical-shaped canister results easy to use and allows the liferaft to float even if not activated

• No. 2 internal self-starter lights illuminate the liferaft at its activation for a quick localization and use

• Back reflective devices which facilitate the liferaft research at sea are present on both tubes

MED SEA - ITALIAN FISHERMAN VESSELSInflatable liferafts for the Italian navigation only. They can be installed on all the following ships that fly the Italian flag:

• Passenger ships not subjects to the Italian regulation d.Igs 45/2000;

• Cargo Boats not subjects to the SOLAS regulation;• Ships qualified for the fishing near to the coast

and for the fishing into the Mediterranean sea, which are not subjects to the d.Igs 541/1999.

These liferafts are available in rigid rectangular special ABS UV canister (“Flat” type) or in a fibre glass cylindrical canister (“Roll” type).

MED SEA liferaft is equipped with Solas B pack and additionl 0,25 L of freschwater per persons.

Liferaft CL V PRO PECHE finds its application on French fisherman boats following the below classification:

“Division 227” and “Division 333” updated in January 06th 2014 and applicable on fisherman boats up to 12 metres whose navigation is 3° category; Fisherman boats between 7 and 12 metres whose navigation is 4° category. This life raft is delivered on a stainless steel cradle and hydrostatic release in order to be directly fitted against vessels’ deck or wherever is found in handy and safe location.

CL V PRO PECHE is equipped with many items such as: floating bailer, 2 sponges, whistle, repair kit, manual inflator, kit torch, 6 Red Hand Flares (Solas), 2 Red parachute flares (Solas), sea anchor with rope, buoyant knife (+ pocket), buoyant paddles, Radar reflector, anti-seasickness pills and user manual.

Liferaft has to be serviced every year according to the latest regulations and it is approved by RINA S.p.A with reference to “Réglementation Française, Div. 310, Div. 333 – Chapitre 333-1”

The MED SEA Liferaft has to be serviced every 2 years according to the latest regulations and they are approved by RINA S.p.A with reference to “Cirolare Ministeriale Serie Generale” no.78 dated 29/12/2008.

FAST RESCUE BOATS

FAST , RELIABLE, POWERFULThe MED Fast Rescue Boats are fast lifeboats with self-righting system, designed and manufactured with the highest quality and safety standards, according to the latest SOLAS regulations, with a shape and a proportion able to keep high stability even in rough sea. Installed on large vessels or platforms, they become fast emergency vehicles perfectly compatible with all the latest requirements for Ro-Ro, that, in an emergency, are dropped down in the water with a crane or davit, via a secure automatic system release off load.

They are characterized by excellent reliability, manoeuvrability and seaworthiness. They are able to maintain positive stability without damages, even if inverted, perforated or torn in one of the pneumatic elements. The tube is fixed to the hull by means of a

specially designed mechanical coupling system, that allows the vessel to provide a quick replacement and solidly engages the pneumatic structure to the hull. They have high power and towing capacity, can tow large rafts and also represent an effective means of search and recovery of missing persons, or used as the means of work suited to undertake roles such as patrol, control and investigation.

Built using the most updated production technologies, these boats are equipped with ‘V’ hull in aluminum and neoprene buoyancy tube manufactured in highly visible colors to be recognizable even in conditions of poor visibility. All the materials of the boat are able to withstand without damage to extreme changes in temperature and to adverse weather conditions. Moreover, thanks to their high autonomy, they are designed to operate far from the mother ship even for long periods, providing a comfortable and secure environment for crew and passengers. They are

equipped with a propulsion system consisting of two diesel engines each of which is connected to a water jet. Engines are designed so that, when reversed, they do not allow the leakage of oil or fuel, and, after the possible overturning of the boat, they can be immediately switched on to again allow navigation.

Emergency vessel similar to the above, but in smaller dimensions. This boat differs mainly for the fiberglass hull and for the choice of engine: Z-drive motor particularly suitable to satisfy the operational activity for work vehicles, capable of operating at low temperature and in extreme conditions of use.

MED INFLATABLE BOATSMED inflatables are designed according to military specifications and are able to perform various activities in very different contexts.

Several versions are available: removable keel in wood or pneumatic, removable bottom in aluminium, wood or pneumatic.

MED inflatables are sturdy, but lightweight, easy to stow and carry. They offer a strong resistance to sunlight, saltwater, chemicals, marine environment, and by adverse weather conditions.

The IDENTIFICATION CARD has to carried on every liferaft and it shall be marked with the MED Digital Stamp that shown Service Station number, name and when the inspection has been done.
