Exeter Pride is a celebration of our Lesbian, Gay,Bisexual and Trans communities. It is about ushaving pride in our contributions to a vibrant anddiverse city, and the city having pride in us.

This guide contains everything you need to knowabout the day’s events, from a map of the paraderoute to details about the events at the ExeterPhoenix and much more...

Throughout the day you’ll see people sportingT-shirts with the Exeter Pride crew motif and logo.These are the people who have worked so hard tomake this event possible, so do chat to them. Theyknow when, where and what is going on and arethere to help. They are also quite nice!

Health and Safety Informationfor Pride at exeter phoenix

The Exeter Pride 2012 Trustees & Committee want you to have a fun filled, but safe day. Inorder for you to fully enjoy your day, please familiarise yourself with the following pointswhilst at the Exeter Phoenix:

● Know where the nearest fire exits are. In the event that a fire alarm sounds, pleasemake your way to the nearest exit calmly, listen to the pride volunteers and ExeterPhoenix staff and do as they ask you. If you are in a workshop or debate, pleasefollow the instructions of the workshop/debate leader.

● If you discover a fire, please activate the nearest fire alarm point and advise a Pridevolunteer or a member of the Phoenix staff member, then evacuate the building.

● If at any time during the day, you are in need of First Aid, please make your way tothe Box Office if you are able, or get the attention of one of our volunteers or amember of staff.

PRIDE VOLUNTEERS WILL BE VISIBLE BY THE DISTINCT T-SHIRTS THEY AREWEARING. We are here to ensure you have a great day, so please use us!

Kicking off the main event, It’s the prideparade! Congregate at The St SidwellsCentre from 11am for the annual paradethrough the City. Led by the Devon &Somerset Fire & Rescue Service and withStreet Heat Samba Band.Finishing at The Exeter Phoenix where thedays main events will commence.

Women on Wednesdays host their pre-pride party night with a live stand-up showby comedian Rosie Wilby, followed by adisco. Tickets £5.00

The future of exeter PrideWe hope you enjoy the events and activitieswhich have been organised as part of

this year.

In the future the trustees and organising committee are looking to notonly raise funds to ensure Exeter Pride continues as an annual eventbut will also be organising other events and activities during the year.For example, following the success of the recent Ceilidh fundraiser, weplan for such events to be held on a regular basis.Kino Queerling show films on a regular basis atthe Exeter Phoenix. Films are shown in theExeter Phoenix Cafe Bar starting at 8.30pm,usually on a Monday evening. There is no chargebut donations to Exeter Pride are always wel-comed.Exeter Pride also hopes to recognise such occasions as IDAHO Dayand organise more LGBT-related activities and events. We’ll also beorganising regular fundraising events, selling glo-sticks and holdingfundraising nights at Vaults Bar and Club. Other fundraising activitiesproposed include a dog show, nearly new sale and raising funds byhelping out at the Matford, Exeter car boot sale.Finally, if you would like to volunteer or get involved in any fundraising orwould like to find out more information or become a new member thenyou can find out when meetings are by filling out the form on the website.Please get in touch and get involved.

See our website for more details on the venues involvedand the offers they have. Your wristband will more than pay for itself andyou’ll be donating to Pride, which will make you feel EPIC!

The Exeter Pride 2012 parade will depart from St. Sidwells Centre at 11.30 am,gather there from 11am.

Exeter Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr. Kevin Mitchell will start the parade, which willbe led by the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service along with StreetHeat Samba Beats.

This will be Exeter’s biggest Pride Parade to date, so join us as we proudly walkthe route through the heart of the city, carrying the 50 metre rainbow flag!

The parade will finish at the Exeter Phoenix, where the day’s main events willbegin. Please follow the guidence of the parade stewards who are there toensure your safety and enjoyment of the parade event.
