Insights from the Beezer journey

Beezer is a data-driven organisation and has gathered valuable actionable insights through its use of big data (since launching its first public version in July 2017). Smartphone and mobile usage continues to increase globally, however Desktops still account for a significant share of access to content over the web. In fact, PWAs will also be able directly installable to Desktops in 2019.

An app, a website, or both?

Beezer provides a solution to compliment or indeed replace existing websites by producing an App and website in one.

Some businesses only require an App and not a website but Beezer recognise that their users may still need to access the content on a Desktop or Tablet device. Beezer addresses both of these scenarios.

Addressing the needs of SMEs

Mobile Apps easily engage users in a mobile-first world. SMEs, micro-businesses, individuals and organisations need to be able to create content quickly and easily share this content directly with their customers. SMEs selling products and services require access to Booking tools and e-Commerce tools. Vertical focus and commercialisation

At the end of January 2019, Beezer have completed the development of its generic PWA App Builder allowing customers from various industries to build their own Mobile App. At this point, Beezer has 200 paid customers and a Monthly Recurring Revenue of £3,000. The next stage is to focus on industry verticals through a combination of development and marketing activity to exceed the paid subscription target of 2000 paid customers subscribed to the core Accelerate plan (£19.99 a month). This represents the company surpassing its monthly burn rate and moving into profit. In order to achieve this target and beyond, Beezer has identified key target markets and industries using data gathered to date during the Validation and Test and Fix stages and will require a continued mix of development, marketing and support enhancements to attract paid subscribers to the SaaS (Software As A Service) App Creation Platform.

Target market and industries

Our initial target market was focused on SMEs in the UK however in Q3 of 2019 we will be looking to expand into all English speaking markets as we grow in line with our global Channel Partners.

Currently most of Beezer’s customers are based in the UK, however we have also attracted customers in the USA, Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Jamaica and South Africa.

Beezer’s existing customers come from a wide range of industry types however the strategy is to focus on industry verticals, where we have analysed the market and App-based competitors, initally starting with Events and e-Commerce and then Financial Services, Sports and Associations.

Channel partners

Our existing Channel Partners continue to push the Beezer brand by providing a Beezer Instant Mobile App Solution in the Wix and Weebly marketplaces (Wix and Weebly have a combined subscriber base of 180 million accounts). For Beezer, this solution currently attracts 700 new accounts a month. When an App is created it creates a beezer.com link which is virally shared within the channel partner’s customer base and helps toward attracting sign-ups to our core platform.

Beezer are planning a version 2 of their channel partner solution in Q3 of 2019 and targeting further Channel Partner relationships.

Brian built a cutting-edge digital agency in Australia – The Creative Shop Sydney. He has a proven track record of delivering positive profit enhancement and building strong management teams.

Brian M. Smillie (Snr) – Company Secretary and Director. A results-driven and accomplished CEO with extensive knowledge, experience and demonstrable success gained from a career spanning over 25 years in various demanding and challenging industries within both private and public sector domains.
