A. Background
“Scientists have shown that the human brain has a much larger ability than we think. In the last 10 years,
we have discovered more about our brain especially in the areas of Memory and Thinking. The increased
awareness of brain dementia has prompted people to learn how to strengthen their power to recall.
Good memory skills are truly important in the life of a busy professional. The ability to remember names
and faces of clients, deadlines, scheduled events, and many other data is critical to prevail in today’s fast-
paced, information-dependent society. However, memory is not just rote and repetition. To train your
memory in the right way means to exercise the brain into thinking analytically and strategically, as many
memory techniques stimulate the hippocampus where working memory is processed. Therefore, with a
trained memory, not only we are able to confidently recall information without viewing notes, but also
improve our thinking quality and brain health. Have a good confidence and thinking quality is one of the
qualification to be a good leader in our life.
The good leaders in a corporate supposed to have an excellent delegation skill. but the problem is,
according to Laura Gail Lunsford, Ph.D., University of Arizona, Really talented people who have lots of
ideas and are likely to become leaders tend to have trouble with delegation, It's because they have really
high standards and want to make sure everything is done right. That’s why we need some guidelines to
make sure we can give an effective delegation and make our staff really understand what we want them
to do and to reach our high standards. There are rules of delegates that we should follow, which are
“SMARTER” (Specific, Measurable, Agreed, Realistic, Timebound, Ethical, and Recorded). Therefore, we
are able to reach several points of SMARTER by Increasing our Memory skill.
On the other hand, good leaders also need to recognize their new and old partners/clients well.
According to White House Office of Consumer Affairs, on average, loyal customers are worth up to 10
times as much as their first purchase. Some research says that it is 6-7 times more expensive to acquire a
new customer than it is to keep a current one. Remember the names and faces of clients/partners with
the backgrounds are one of the key point to indicate that we really recognize them. In fact, calling people
by name can light someone up, and it can make our relation to clients better. We need good method to
improve this skill
Executive Memory Program is excerpted from the best-selling book series, “Memorizing Like an
Elephant” by Yudi Lesmana, crafted exclusively for professionals. Completed with study cases to solve
memory problems faced by professionals, the programs are equipped with many techniques to boost
your focus, discipline, and creativity. These are the three things that will take your career and
professional life to new heights.
