PMP/CAPM EXAM PREP BOOT CAMP
A 35-PDU Intensive Workshop (3 class days + 10 hours pre-class study + 4-hour mock exam)
This 35-PDU intensive workshop is an immersion into the project management concepts, techniques and knowledge areas covered in the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification examination administered by the Project Management Institute (PMI). At the end of this workshop participants will be ready to take the PMP examination. Participants are encouraged to take the PMP exam as soon as possible after this workshop, while the material is still fresh! Consult http://www.pmi.org/en/Certification/~/media/PDF/Certifications/pdc_pmphandbook.ashx for instructions on PMP exam prerequisites and sign-up procedures. The course will also provide ample preparation for those seeking the CAPM certification.
This workshop utilizes a unique associative learning approach that facilitates rapid assimilation of the vast amount of material covered in the PMP examination. This approach helps you to construct a “mental framework” and to fit the various concepts, techniques and knowledge nuggets into this framework in a common-sense, natural, and intuitive manner. As a result, it is not only easier for you to recall this material during your PMP examination, but, perhaps more importantly, you will also be able to apply it more effectively in your real-world practice of project management, thus making your PMP certification not merely a professional qualification but also a professional asset!
In order to get you into the PMP exam frame of mind, the workshop alternates learning modules with short tests. There are seven learning modules, and each includes a self-graded test of multiple-choice questions resembling those on the actual PMP examination. There is also one 200-question practice exam at the end of the workshop.
Each of the seven learning modules lasts between 2 hours and 2.5 hours and concludes with a short test. (The seven short tests collectively include over 300 questions.) We will cover two to three learning modules per day for the first three days, and conclude with a session devoted entirely to review and to PMP® exam-taking strategy. A 4-hour 200-question mock test must be taken a day or two after the class ends. The table below outlines the agenda.

Testimonials from some of our participants
"Dr. Joe D'Mello's 3-day PMP boot camp accomplished for me what weeks and even months of self-study, no matter how diligent, could not: it extracted the essence of PMBOK, wove in and thus reinforced PM concepts through effective 'storytelling', and gave me the confidence necessary to sit successfully for the PMP exam. I felt supremely prepared, not because I had committed the PMBOK to memory, but because Joe’s PMP Boot Camp taught me how to reason through any number of potential questions and test scenarios. I walked away with a much more holistic view of project management methodology, and have already recommended his PMP Boot Camp to several colleagues."

"Exequity's PMP Exam Preparation course was extremely well taught and left me fully prepared to pass the exam. From the very beginning of the course, all the way to its completion, the course focused on preparing for the exam and empowering me to study and pass the exam. The instructor's use of 'mental models' and real world examples allowed me to recall the knowledge areas and processes for the exam as well as provide me with advantages in the work place. This approach worked so much better than a simple memorization approach that other classes might do. Overall, a I would recommend this course to any individual who wants to have a conceptual understanding of the PMBoK and who wants to practically guarantee their PMP Certification."
Matthew Welsh, PMP Associate, Consulting Industry, Tysons Corner, VA
"Dear Joe, I tried to study for the PMP exam on my own but had little comprehension of the material in the PMBOK. Once I was taken through your logical progression of the processes, the material made much more sense. I found your methodology of high-level conceptual presentation and of creating mental pictures to be powerful techniques in reaching an understanding that superseded the necessity for memorization. I would highly recommend your course to anyone who was serious about passing the exam and practicing the profession."

"I found the PMP Boot Camp so useful for two reasons. First, the course content and instruction really helped focus my studies for the exam. The combination of real-world examples, emphasis on linking personal experience to exam topics, and focus

on high-level thinking over rote memorization really helped solidify the material. The class not only heightened my confidence but also drastically reduced my preparation and review effort. Second, the class provided a framework for project management as a profession which I have never really considered before. Like many with a technical background who are promoted into management, I became a project manager without intent. This class helped me recognize aspects of how my own organization functions and clarify why certain processes are performed, which will allow me to identify areas for process improvement. Overall, this course was extremely valuable and definitely worth the time and cost."
Assistant Director, Science & Technology, Center for Advanced Design, Research, and Exploration (CADRE)
"Joe's course removed the intimidation factor associated with the PMP exam and gave me the confidence and knowledge I needed to pass the PMP test the first time. The class didn't focus on minutiae; instead emphasis was placed on the important concepts needed to pass the PMP exam. The use of visual examples tied the important information together in a common sense fashion. The realistic, test-like questions discussed in class were extremely useful in learning how questions are asked on the PMP test--and how to approach answering them. A big "extra" from this class was the coaching Joe provided in documenting 4,500 hours of experience for the PMP application."

"I am a career Naval Officer and have spent much of my military service managing and leading projects in various forms. Exequity Inc. offered me quality and timely pre- and post-class mentoring in support of earning my PMP credential. Dr. D'Mello led the class through a journey that promoted high level understanding of a conceptual framework that would make us think more like PMP trained managers - the course did not stop with detailed questions and answers. His PMP Boot Camp can translate your background into appropriate test-oriented concepts. Listen to his advice offered during the class and you will pass the PMP test! The experience will make you an even better project manager - and one with an industry accepted certification."
Scott Rogers PMP

"I was able to pass the PMP Exam less than a week after taking the class although I never even glanced at the PMBOK Guide before or after the class! The exceptional aspect of this class is that it does not focus on memorizing material but teaches you how to effectively think about Project Management by efficiently distilling and communicating the core concepts and overriding philosophy of the PMBOK Guide. Dr. D’Mello teaches you the “mental methodology” behind project management, so you can pass the exam by relating back to high-level core concepts."
Neil Goodrich PMP

"Dr D'Mello's PMP Prep Class was absolutely crucial to my achieving my PMP certification. He guided me systematically through the PMBOK Guide in a clear concise manner. Based on his system of organizing and presenting the knowledge, I was able to take and pass the PMP Certification examination with confidence shortly after the class."
Ken Soo PMP, Project Manager, Milwaukee, WI
"Joe masterfully communicated sometimes difficult to understand concepts through real life examples and white board illustrations so that the whole class could easily understand. The course material allowed me to focus my study efforts on the key knowledge and process areas and to better understand how I could incorporate them into my daily project management activities to better manage my projects. The module practice tests and the final exam included in the course material provided excellent coverage of the wealth of information contained in the PMBOK."

"Joe D'Mello's relaxed yet confident teaching style promotes confidence in his students to pass the PMP exam. His knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge is superb as is the guidance he gives in the areas each student should know. I highly recommend his class to anyone giving thought of becoming a certified Project Management Professional."
Jim Bouchard PMP

"Although the PMBOK Guide is a valuable reference, it covers a vast amount of information, so I found it rather overwhelming to use as a study resource for the PMP Exam. Joe's PMP Boot Camp helped me to focus on the big picture instead of worrying about every detail, and made me feel more in control of my abilities to take the exam and pass. (I passed the PMP exam on August 18, 2007.)"
Carla Rojas PMP

"The Exequity PMP Exam Preparation class helped me to focus on passing the exam not just reviewing the PMBOK material. The combination of sample tests, test preparation hints, detailed focused material for review, and the one-on-one customized hand holding for completing the PMP Credential Application before the end of the course date truly prepared me to pass the exam the first time. I highly recommend this course to focus you toward preparing for, passing, and becoming PMP certified. This course will empower and prepare you to meet your goal of passing the PMP exam your first try!"

"Joe, you began the Boot Camp by candidly telling us that you clearly understand the reason we are attending the course – to get the information we need to pass the PMP exam. You then proceeded to provide a focused, practical and no-nonsense presentation of the information we needed to pass the PMP exam! Your course is the most refreshing, informative and effective professional training I have had the opportunity to attend. Thank you!"

He provided an easy to follow method that ensured success on the PMP exam. When asked by colleagues about PMP preparation courses, I always recommend Exequity."

“Without Joe's Boot Camp, I never would have passed my PMP exam. He gave us all the information needed and tried to put us at ease as much as possible about such an important exam. I am so glad I went with Joe's course, rather than tackling all the information all by myself. So, thanks Joe!”

"Joe D'Mello's PMP class gave me an opportunity to think outside the box. His PMP class materials were aligned with the PMI requirements. I have recommended his class to my colleagues. Importantly, I passed my PMP exam with the help of his class and the materials."

"The information and techniques presented in Exequity's PMP boot camp class allowed me to pass the PMP exam. It drastically reduced my preparation time and provided me the confidence to relax and concentrate on the material. In particular the daily exams exposed us to hundreds of well-crafted test questions. Dr. D'Mello artfully provided tips and hints, which would imprint a picture in the student mind to allow him or her to recall the materials. This class is a must for any PMP hopeful."
Nizar Hamad PMP

"Joe D'Mello's PMP Boot Camp was very effective in providing an excellent overview of all the PMBOK Guide process groups, processes, and knowledge areas. I did not have any preparation prior to taking the PMP Boot Camp and did not have any idea about these processes and knowledge areas. The PMP Boot Camp gave me a very good understanding of the various processes, their relationships, their interactions, and their relevance to the various knowledge areas! After attending Joe's class, I required only minimal review and preparation (which included taking some practice tests) before taking and passing the PMP exam six weeks after attending the class."

"I would like to acknowledge how helpful your PMP boot camp class was towards my success in achieving the PMP certification. I came to the class with very little preparation for the exam and within three days had a clear understanding of what to expect. By studying the course material, taking the practice exams and your recommended reading of a few excerpts from the PMBOK Guide was able to successfully complete the test within 5 weeks after your course. I definitely agree that the timeframe to take the test following your course was essential in that success. The momentum built in the class, the key understanding points, and your coaching resonated during the test and helped push me forward to completion. Thank you very much for your coaching and support!"
