The force-displacement relationship exhibits linear slipping stiffness when loading,but unloads with a smaller slipping stiffness. A pre-compression displacement and adisplacement stop-limit may be specified.

A bilinear Maxwell damper has been implemented as a new link property. This deviceis a linear spring in series with a dashpot whose force-velocity relationship exhibitsbilinear viscous behavior, typical of certain oil dampers having a relief valve.

Superstructure design checking has been implemented for steel superstructuresections according to the Indian Roads Congress code IRC:22-2008. Superstructuretypes supported include steel I-girders and hybrid I-girders with composite concretedeck.

Superstructure design checking has been extended to include composite bridgesuperstructures with steel U-girders according to the "Eurocode EN 1994-2" code (EN1994-2:2005, Eurocode 4: Design of composite steel and concrete structures - Part 2:General rules and rules for bridges).

Superstructure design checking has been updated according to the AASHTO LRFDBridge Design Specifications, 6th Edition, 2013 Interim Revisions. In addition, AASHTObridge rating accounts for the 2013 interim revisions, and AASHTO seismic bridgedesign accounts for the 2012 and 2014 interim revisions.

Concrete frame design is now available according to Eurocode 2-2004, includingEurocode 8-2004 seismic requirements.

Steel frame design is now available according to Eurocode 3-2005, includingEurocode 8-2004 seismic requirements.

An enhancement has been implemented for defining tendons in the Bridge Modelerwhere the options to move and copy tendons now take into account any existingparametric variations that affect the location and inclination of the girders.

The specification of the notional size used for time-dependent creep and shrinkageanalysis has been enhanced to now be specified with the frame and shell sectionproperties instead of with the material property.

A new staged-construction operation “Change Section & Age” is nowavailable allowing specification of the “Age at Add” when changing frame sections orshell sections.

The bridge modeler now allows individual bridge objects to be locked to preventupdating their linked models.

Table output can now request the correspondence between the responsecomponents at a single location for additive-, range-, and enveloping-type loadcombinations. Results that admit correspondence includes most displacement, force,and stress response quantities.

Design checking has been implemented for concrete superstructure sectionsaccording to the "Eurocode EN 1992-2" code (EN 1992-2:2005, Eurocode 2: Design ofconcrete structures - Part 2: Concrete bridges - design and detailing rules).Superstructure types supported include prestressed concrete box girders andcomposite sections with precast I-girders and U-girders. Separate design checks areprovided for stress, flexural strength, and shear strength using MCFT (modifiedcompression field theory). The effect of mild reinforcing is included as well as theprestress tendons. Live-load distribution factors can be specified by the user ordetermined from detailed 3-D live-load analysis. Design results are displayedgraphically for the entire box section, or on a girder-by-girder basis for multi-celledbox girders and composite sections. Detailed tables showing all results andintermediate values are available for display, printing, and export to Excel or Access.

Load combinations and design load types have been added for bridge designaccording to the code EN 1991-2:2003, Eurocode 1: Actions on structures - Part 2:Traffic loads on bridges.

Vehicle loads have been added bridge design according to EN 1991-2:2003, Eurocode1: Actions on structures - Part 2: Traffic loads on bridges.

Standardized vehicles are now categorized by Region and Standard, making it easierto add and modify new vehicle loads.

A vehicle class is now automatically created for each vehicle so that the user onlyneeds to create vehicle classes when multiple vehicles are to be enveloped.

For the optimization of steel-girder bridge design, the "As Designed" location of webstiffeners last used for recalculating the resistance is now saved if the model isunlocked or saved as a new model when closing the optimization form.

Steel frame section properties for the AISC Shapes Database Version 14.0 are nowavailable in the section-property database files for U.S Customary and metric units.

The definition of material properties has been enhanced to allow user-definedstandard materials through the use of XML files. Properties are segregated by regionand by code-standard within these files as well as when using the materials in thegraphical user interface.

New Chinese materials are now available to define concrete, steel, rebar, and tendonproperties according to JTG, TB, and GB standards.

Concrete materials are now available having properties consistent with the Spanishcode "EHE - Instrucción de Hormigón Estructural.

Italian material definitions have been added for: (1) Concrete according to standardUNI EN 206-1:2006 and UNI 11104:2004, (2) Steel and rebar according to standardNTC2008.

CSiBridge V15.1.1 Enhancements

Significant new features:

User-defined stress points may now be specified for Section Designer frame sections.Plotting of bridge superstructure results now includes an option to show the

hyperstatic (or secondary) forces and moments acting on the superstructure cross-section for load cases and combos representing prestressing load.

The OAPI (Open Application Programming Interface) has been changed so thatmultiple instances of CSiBridge can now be started from an external program orscript.

New functionality has been added to the Open API (Open Application ProgramingInterface) for the design codes.

Specialized bridge groups may now be specified within each bridge object. Eachbridge group applies to a particular type of component (slab, girder, bearing, etc.)and an individual bridge object. Depending on the bridge group type, groups may bedefined for multiple items, multiple longitudinal ranges, and/or multiple transverseranges.

The specification of rebar for the bridge object superstructure has been enhanced.Distances are now measured along each individual girder. Longitudinal rebar islocated relative to the center of the supports or the centers of the girder spans, andshear rebar is located relative to the ends of each girder span.

A new design request type has been added for steel I-girder composite bridgesuperstructures to account for the constructability check according to the "AASHTOLRFD 2007" code, including the 2008 interim provisions. Composite and non-composite behavior can both be considered, with or without using staged-construction analysis.

Bridge load rating has been added for steel I-girder composite bridge superstructuresaccording to the AASHTO "Manual for Bridge Evaluation", First Edition, 2008.Separate rating requests are provided for the service and strength checks of bothcomposite and non-composite superstructures. Live-load distribution factors can beautomatically calculated using code formulae, specified by the user, or determinedfrom a detailed 3-D live-load analysis.

For flexural-strength superstructure design checks by the AASHTO LRFD 2007 code,the effect of user-specified reinforcement is now included for the prestressed box-girder and precast-girder composite sections. Previously only the effect of theconcrete and tendons were included in these checks. The effect of reinforcement forthe slab of steel-girder composite sections was already being considered.

Design checking has been implemented for concrete superstructure sectionsaccording to the Canadian "CAN/CSA-S6-06" code. A new option has been added for the modeling of I-girders in composite steel-girdersuperstructure sections. In addition to the existing options to model the I-girders asframe objects or as area objects (for both web and flanges), the girders can now bemodeled using area objects for the webs and frame objects for the flanges.

A new bridge seismic design check has been added to the Chinese version thatfollows the Chinese code JTG/T B02-01-2008, "Guidelines for Seismic Design ofHighway Bridges".

Bridge design for prestressed concrete box girder superstructures using Chinese code“JTG-D62-2004” in the Chinese version has been updated as follows: (1) The effect ofexisting longitudinal rebar is now accounted for in flexural design. (2) A new designcheck has been added for tendon stress.

The Chinese 2002 building design codes are available for concrete and steel framedesign in the Chinese version.

Concrete frame design has been enhanced to improve the smoothing of P-M-Minteraction surfaces in those rare cases where they become non-convex due to kinksin the P-M curves.
