This photograph to me is very aesthetically pleasing as well as intricate. The importance of this to me is because it's very unusual to see objects that up close and in detail everyday life basis, also the fact that it's extremely up close communicates different messages to every individual because it doesn't give away what the object is, giving the photograph more than one meaning.

Another thing that strikes me about this photograph is that it reminds me of cells looked at using a microscope which is what I believe is influenced by the photographer. This is because of the the brightness and different colours in this photograph.

Evaluation

Page 14: exam preperation

My intention for my initial set of photographs was to produce abstract close up photographs and I believe I did very well at this. I like my first photograph because I looked closly for objects that are very weird from what I usually see and then managed to sharply capture in detail a dead leaf from different angles with good light from the sun which I think emphasizes the colour very well in my photograph. However I disliked the fact that the leaf didn't have much colour which makes the photograph a little dull. I really like the second picture because I think I have really considered Marco Modic's work and how the objects look and applied it to my own. The colours in this I think are amazing, you have dark gaps and small detailed dots. It's also not very clear on what the photograph is on which communicates different messages to the audience. The fifth picture I think is probably the odd one out of all my set of photographs, this is because I have not only taken a close up of an object in detail but I also have included the background which is out of focus only focusing on the sharp object. I dislike this photo because I think it would have looked better if I focused on just the plant up close. Overall I like the angles of the pictures because in some of my pictures I have taken them straight but I have also taken some in a titled angle which I think made my pictures aesthetically pleasing because the audience can see that I have carefully thought about what Is portrayed in the frame. I also think the colours and lighting is amazing and emphasizes on the intricate detail.

Developmental Photographs

As you will probably notice I have tried 2 different techniques for my developmental set. I am very pleased with my first developmental picture because it's a intricate image, I have used paint to achieve this look by going over the same colours in dots which makes the picture aesthetically pleasing. I think it's very prominent and im pleased with the end result. My second developmental as well as the third I have used hybro which gave it that effect. It was difficult because the photograph was glossy and needed to be paper but I repeated it several times until I achieved that look. If I was to do this again I would print out the second 2 on paper and try the hybro technique again to see if it would lok better.

Boulder and Kelp Assynt By Colin Prior

I have been influenced by Colin Prior's work for this preperation. This is one of the few photographs that striked me and I find it absolutely prominent. After the visit to Dungeness I was intrugues by the amount of unusual clutter there was everywhere which was something I wanted to proceed on for my exam. I like how close up it is up to a point where your not able to guess what the objects are which is a technique I'm going to hopefully use in the exam.

These photos are also taken in Dungeness and my intentions was to take pictures of wide varieties of unusual things, A lot of the stuff had rotted which is what gave it a more interesting look. My first picture I personally think is one of my best images taken on the trip. This picture has many different shades of brown and then you have that bright blue ring around the broom which stands out. I find this aesthetically pleasing. I also think picture three and four are both aesthetically pleasing. It is very close shots of ropes and in the third picture because it's very in detail and fidly. Pictures five and six are very bright that's the first thing we notice. The bright blue sky, what I like about this picture is the rotted nails and wheel which gives the picture an interesting look.

Mezzetty by Martin Donelli.

This photograph is two different pictures of two different people combined. What I especially intrigued me about this photograph is that eventhough it's made of two different looking people, it somehw fits and goes well together which is something I want to apply to my developmental set. This could show that two very different things can be the same, also the fact that their facing different directions emphasis this. This seems more computerised which is something I don't want to do, im going to interpret this by hand.

I am very pleased with the end result and it turned out just the way I wanted them. This is a technique I will hopefully use as part of my final outcome. The combination of two different objects worked well together just as I hoped. The first 2 are my favourite because in the first one we have two totally different objcts (rope and broom) but they both have the same colour which makes it aesthetically pleasing. The second one is of again two completely different objects but ther turned out good together. With the rest I tested out how it would look with objects that are similar for example the ropes and the rocks. The only difference is the tone's and colours. Overall im very pleased with this developmental and is a technique im going to continue experimenting with for my final outcome.

Savory By Jackie Alpers

This image is very pominent because there'sdifferent colours. I think this is because of the food, with food there are a variety of things that look different which I find interesting. Her image is not soo close up but close enough to see details which is another technique I would like to add to my final piece. To me there isn't a specific message being sent across to the viewers, this means that it can mean differet things to different people which again is something I want to apply to my final piece.

I am really happy with the end results and I think that choosing food really did help on the abstract look I was aiming for. I think the different colours make it aesthetically pleasing. My first picture is a picture of a biscuit, I didnt want to make this obvious because I was using the the technique by Marqo Modic who took close up pictures of objects so it's unclear on what exactly it is. I think this worked really well. I also like the composition of straight lines in that photograph. My Second picture is very in focus and in detail. It's prominent and very intricate. This is one of my personal favourites because the small details In this are very clear and it's aesthetically pleasing.

Page 53: exam preperation

During my 8 hours Im going to edit my photographs then print them out on a matt 6x4 as well as 7x5. Im going to also print out some other pictures onto acetate. Then using the food's that I have taken a picture of im going to put that on the lightbox with the acetate and then print that out onto colour acetate again. Then using a canvas im going to overlap them and cut out strips of the 7x5 image to put on top of the 6x5.

1hour- Edit images 2hours- Print 3hours- Print onto acetate 4hours- use lightbox 5hours- print onto acetate again 6hours- cut strips of the 7x5 and position them onto the canvas 7hours- put it on the canvas 8hours- put it on the canvas.
