Double Page Spread The use of a quote in the place of the title shows the audience what the TV programme is about quickly so they know if they’re interested in topic of the show and want to read on. The font of the title quote is also effective as it is similar to a motherly handwriting style.

The main image accurately presents the theme of the show, the character’s clothing, hair and makeup portray the old midwife style. The manipulation of the photo, it stands out on a coloured background, makes the image more eye catching. Additionally, the bright white fade surrounding the character gives her a heavenly presence on the page, warming the audience to her.

Interviews with other cast members and production staff add depth to this spread; as it is not all about the goings on in the show itself.

By using a character as a focal point this makes this double page spread stand out as slightly different. Also this spread has lots of information about the show which, this is different to many double page spreads in listing magazines. The quality of the information highlights the detailed nature of the listings magazine itself.

By surrounding the pull quote with a contrasting coloured circle it is eye catching and this will grab the attention of the reader and will give them a hint of the them of the article. There are many different images used on this double page spread, by making them in a polaroid format creates a dated effect which adds to the theme of the TV programme.

Advertisement The title is bold and eye catching as it is on a banner, the colour of the banner is in keeping with E4’s logo theme; this will create an automatic link in the viewers mind to the TV channel. The use of a bold font also catches the eye of he audience, this is a new TV show with a striking title as it is; this would intrigue the audience.

Additional information of the rough release date informs the audience when they can expect to see this new TV programme on their screens.

The audience is made to assume that this character on the lower end of the see-saw is the main character, this is due to her weight being shown as heavier than 5 other teens. This weight shown could also be linked to the reference to madness in the title, this teen has heavy problems going on in her mind that weigh her down. Her sadness also portrayed through her facial expressions and body language, this also shows the audience this is the main character as the appears to have the most depth to her personality, something that will be explored within the series.

The large bold use of the E4 logo will catch the eye of the audience and stick in their mind where they can watch this new TV programme.

The appearance of weightlessness illustrated by these characters being at the top end of the playground toy represents these teens as not having a care in the world, they’re young and having fun. Additionally them being at the top of the scale also shows them as at the top end of their social ladder: young, cool etc. This contrasts the social position of the main character at the bottom, who looks to be aware of her lower status.

Double Page Spread The use of a very famous celebrity to raise awareness of this reality/competition TV programme a wider audience will be gained. Peter Andre fans will see this article and wish to read on not just because of his participation in Strictly Come Dancing, but because they like him. In similar effect, Peter Andre fans would be led to watching the programme through his prominence in the double page spread.

The use of the colour purple for he title catches the eye of the audience and stands out on the white background, the use of this colour is carried on throughout creating a theme with highlighting photos with boarders, interview questions and main text that will interest the audience.

Different images of the star from his personal life and from the TV show itself entice the audience further, as they’ll be gaining information about the celebrity and the TV show he’s currently on. The main image of Andre stands out, it slightly interrupts the text of the article, this creative feature integrates the image with the page so that it is pleasing to the eye. The image in the top right hand corner is an action shot from the singer dancing on Strictly, if readers haven't already seen this exact performance they would be interested in going on watch again (online) to see the performance.

This article has a large amount of information, this detailed style is effective in presenting the core themes of a TV programme to the readers and potential audience; if the show is already mid way through it’s season, giving a detailed analysis of the goings on will help to increase the viewers.

The by-line of this article is fun, catchy and attention grabbing; leading readers to carry on looking at this article.

The word ‘exclusive’ automatically creates a draw to this article for the audience, as they wont receive this information from any other TV listings spread. The use of descriptive language away from the text is eye catching and effective, something that many similar articles use to create a draw to the TV programme and double page spread.

Advertisement The use of several different reviews from well known institutions, such as The Times and The Guardian, giving the new production four stars or more shows the audience that it is worth watching even without knowing information about the plot: which can’t be given through a newspaper advertisement.

The simple use of one image in this advert is effective as it draws the audience’s attention to the single main image and to the important information given.

The attention grabbing by-line of ‘The deeper you go, the darker it gets.’ enchants the audience in the mysterious and thrilling theme of the new film. This line gives the most information on the production, making the audience want to find out more.

The silver colour of the bold eye catching title and the black background create a contrast which makes the text stand out. The black background symbolises the theme of darkness and mystery of the film. The metallic dense appearance of the title itself creates a modern and strong theme for the film, which suits the nature of this bold thriller.

The use of Empire’s review as the largest and most bold review tells the audience that this film is one of the best of the year; this automatically draws the audience in and makes them interested in watching the film to see if they form the same opinion. The left hand side of the double page advert is more empty, this draws the eye to the centre of the page where there looks to be a soldier in the tunnel. The circle of light behind the character shows how they bring light, goodness; this makes the audience automatically like this character, they are entering the darkness which is full of fear and mystery.

Double Page Spread This double page spread uses the theme of personal fact files to interest the audience in this celebrity challenge programme. This type of format will prove effective in gaining readers and viewers to the show as it draws the individual fan bases from each celebrity and brings them together to create a larger amount of viewers. They’ve used friends to create these articles which will increase the interest in each contestant, this will push the audience to tune in and see what happens!

The vibrant jungle greens used are different for each star, but in keeping with bright theme. This colour makes a naturel connection in the viewer’s mind to the jungle and therefore the TV programme.

Contrasting to the naturel jungle theme the three celebs, that the profiles are concerning, are wearing heavy makeup and sporting a less natural look. This glamourous makeup and accurate jungle clothing still upkeeps the celebrity image and also makes the whole TV show more appealing.

The manipulation of the three main celebrities integrates them with their jungle environment, their presence over the white boxed articles stands out and brings the audiences eye to them.

There are many photos used on this double page spread, this keeps the readers interested and gives them more information and background on the celebrities.

There isn’t much information on this double page spread in comparison to other articles. This is mainly due to the fun and laid back nature of the TV show; extensive detail doesn’t need to be given as the plot and basic themes of the show are well known to be simple entertainment.

The image used for this advert is simple, but effective. The natural beauty of the killer wales in the icy water create a calm atmosphere for the poster. The manipulation of the planet in the top of the poster integrated into the image shows a vast ‘frozen planet’, emphasising the scale of programme. The gradual fade from the pale blue skyline into the frozen spherical world with the bright sun appearing in the distance is artistic and detailed. The whole poster shows the seriousness, strength and factual nature of the programme.

The simple fine line font does not draw away attention from the bold manipulation of the images used on the poster. This keeps with the natural theme of the programme and the gentle and soft aesthetics of the advert. The by-line below the title ‘a world beyond imagination’ continues this fascinating natural theme. The white of the title and the gripping by-line draws attention to it, it makes the audience wonder what would be included in the documentary series, what couldn’t they imagine?

The purpose of advertising posters for TV programmes is to create the interest into the show with little information describing it. Being able to entice the audience, with under ten words, describing the events of the TV programme is a common aspect of advertising posters; this aspect could be described as vital to the creation of a successful poster.

The BBC logo is lightly visible in the top right hand corner of the poster; it is discrete, in-keeping with the gentle nature of the poster itself. The poster doesn’t include a date or time of airing, this may be seen as something worth including to create a sense of clarity with the audience
