Global Warming And Climate Change

Burning coal, oil and natural gas releases carbon dioxide gas into the atmosphere. On average, this may warm the earth and change the climate in other ways. For example, it might change the severity and duration of storms or droughts.

Other human activities, such as cutting down forests, and growing rice, and raising cattle, may have the same effect, but are less important

Greenhouse Gases

The atmosphere has a natural supply of "greenhouse gases." They capture heat and keep the surface of the Earth warm enough for us to live on. Without the greenhouse effect, the planet would be an uninhabitable, frozen wasteland.

atmosphere that absorbs and emits radiation within the thermal infrared range.This process is the fundamental cause of the greenhouse effect.The primary greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone.

Greenhouse Effect Energy from the sun

drives the earth’s weather and climate, and heats the earth’s surface;

In turn, the earth radiates energy back into space;

Some atmospheric gases (water vapor, carbon dioxide, and other gases) trap some of the outgoing energy, retaining heat somewhat like the glass panels of a greenhouse;

These gases are therefore known as greenhouse gases;

The greenhouse effect is the rise in temperature on Earth as certain gases in the atmosphere trap energy.

World Climate History There are so many

different climates in different time zones , different centuries . That’s what’s so amazing about the world we live in , it would only be WEIRD if the climate was the same all day everyday. I listed so you can see the different times scientist noted down the weird drastic climate changes for the past hundreds maybe even thousands of years …

World Carbon Dioxide History (chart)

The concentration of carbon dioxide in Earth's atmosphere is approximately 390parts per million by volume as of 2010 and rose by 1.9 during 2000-2009.Carbon dioxide is "essential to photosynthesis" in plants and other pictures, and is also the same as greenhouse gas

Projected Climate Change due to Global Warming

The climate is changing. The earth is warming up, and there is now overwhelming scientific consensus that it is happening, and human-induced. With global warming on the increase and species and their habitats on the decrease, chances for ecosystems to adapt naturally are diminishing.

Many are agreed that climate change may be one of the greatest threats facing the planet. Recent years show increasing temperatures in various regions, and/or increasing extremities in weather patterns.

Melting of glaciers Most of the mountain glaciers on

our planet that have been monitored for the past 150 years

are reportedly shrinking. The glaciers most affected by global

warming those located in the lower latitudes and many of them

are disappearing. If glaciers continue to shrink, it could affect water supply in areas that depend

heavily upon mountain watersheds

North Pole Changes When the temapture or climate changes the ice for the polar bears go under water :o The North Pole is located in the middle of the Arctic Ocean which constantly covered with

shifting sea ice. The North Pole latitude is 90° North. At the North Pole all lines of longitude converge there, so North Pole longitude can be defined as any degree value. Greenland is the closest land to geographic north pole

Glaciers of the World All Glaciers Are Beautiful Sights , Even though you've

probably never seen a glacier, they are a big item when we talk about the world's water supply. Almost 10 percent of the world's land mass is currently covered with glaciers, mostly in places like Greenland and Antarctica. Glaciers are important features in the hydrologic cycle and affect the volume, variability, and water quality of runoff in areas where they occur. Example of a before and after glacier.

Greenland Changes Climate change and global warming are hot topics of discussion all

over the world, and these discussions are particularly relevant in relation to Greenland as the ice sheet is often mentioned in connection with the debates on increases in global temperature. Frozen fresh water is bound in the form of millions of cubic metres of ice in Greenland, and overall the country contains 10%of the world's total reserves of fresh water.

Ocean Level Changes Pollution

As the number of active landfills dwindles and coastal populations grow, offshore waste dumping and coastal pollution increase. This additional dumping increases the possibility of improper waste disposal polluting the coastal environment.

Animals facing extinction due to Climate Change

Because of humans, an alarming rate of animals are becoming extinct every day. At this rate, more than half of the world's species will be extinct in 100 years. The colour of the environment is changing – becoming bluer – apparently due to climate change, says a new study that finds that environment and animal populations are fluctuating more rapidly over time. Polo bears are loosing there ice so thats whats affecting them. So is nemo ;O

Can we stop global warming? OFCOURSE ! there's

many ways of stopping global warming just that most humans don’t do ish about it . There electrical cars , stop using hairspray outside an open air environment.

Avoid high gas prices and carbon emissions

Eat fresh, local foods for a healthy environment and you

Learn how to reduce your home’s carbon footprint

Keep money in your pocket and carbon out of the air
