If Not A Standardised Test Detail Method Here:

• You will need a standard goal, goalkeeper and 10 balls • Give the athlete 30 seconds (timed with stopwatch) to shoot with

all ten balls from anywhere inside the 18 yard box but outside the 6 yard box

• The higher the number of goals scored, the better their finishing• Repeat 3 times and use best result

Improvement Target 1 (P6)Priority Trait Speed

Baseline Test Result

5.71

Specific Target To reduce her speed by half a second over the 8 week period

Measurable Measure using a stop watch and 35m area

Agreed Upon I agreed this target with my client on 14/1/15

Realistic I believe this is a realistic target for her to achieve

Time Based Baseline test (WB 12/01): 5.71Review (WB 09/02): 5.56Complete (WB 09/03): 5.40

Page 8: Evidence 1

Student Justification 1I believe my client needs to improve her speed because when compared to normative data she is only average for her gender and age. If my client improves her speed it means that when chasing a through ball or long ball she is more likely to beat the defender to it which may give her a better chance of scoring. Having this ability means she is more likely to be chosen for the team rather than starting on the bench. It could also link to an increase in goals scored which will influence her selection in the team. Having a faster striker will not only benefit her, but also the team, this is because it means they will be able to maintain possession and have more chance of scoring, this could increase the number of goals scores and therefore wins and league position. If she is able to reach balls before a defender her team will keep possession therefore stopping the opposition from attacking. She will also be able to close down the keeper and other defenders much faster which could result in her winning the ball off them and again gaining possession.

Improvement Target 2 (P6)Priority Trait FinishingBaseline Test Result

3/10

Specific Target To be able to score 7/10 by the end of the 8 week periodMeasurable This can be measured using a tally chartAgreed Upon I agreed this target with my client on 14/1/15Realistic I believe my client can achieve this target by the end of the

programmeTime Based Baseline test (WB 12/01): 3/10

Review (WB 09/02): 5/10Complete (WB 09/03):8/10

Page 10: Evidence 1

Student Justification 2I believe my client needs to improve her finishing skills because as a striker being able to finish is her main role, this includes finishing while under pressure, and out of the 10 shots the most she scored was 3. This test was done with just the keeper and she needs to improve in her ability in a 1 on 1 situation as well as when she is faced with a defender. My client would definitely benefit from improving her finishing as it means she will increase the number of goals she scores, if she is scoring more goals than other strikers then she is more likely to be picked for the starting line up rather than starting on the bench. It will also reduce the chance of her being subbed off for another player. With a good scoring record to go alongside her other abilities it may increase the chance of her being scouted by a club such as Brighton Ladies. My client being an effective finisher will also benefit her team because it means they will score more goals and ultimately win more games, it could result in them winning the league and getting through rounds of the cup.
