Everyday Exile- Who We Are
Everyday Exile Project began as a platform for Tibetans in exile anywhere in the world to present their personal stories.
Our goal is to educate viewers in other countries re: everyday life, culture and issues facing Tibetans who have fled Chinese-occupied Tibet.
Founded in 2010 by Tammy Winand
Operates in Tibetan exile communities in India & Nepal.
We are not for profit.
What We Do
Everyday Exile Project interviews Tibetan individuals in exile about their life experiences.
We talk to organizations and volunteers working with and for Tibetan exiles.
Photo essays on Tibetan culture and religion are presented on our blog.
We plan to publish one or more manuscripts or photo books on related issues.
Why We Do It
Everyday Exile was formed after Tammy's return from her first stay in McleodGanj, capital of the Tibetan exile community. When speaking to United States acquaintances, she realized there is a huge absence of information on the topic and knew her Tibetan friends' needed additional outlets for their voices.
Everyday Exile's goal is to spread awareness of the Tibetan situation and to educate people regarding Tibetan culture as they face cultural genocide.
