TRIP OVERVIEW Trek to the base camp (5,320m / 17,450ft) of the highest mountain in the world is an extremely popular activity for trekkers from all over the world. The activity offers breathtaking views of Mount Everest ((8,848m / 29,021ft) and its neighboring mountains. Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek is an incredible experience where one gets to have magnificent views the spectacular Himalayan scenery and immerse with the interesting lifestyle, culture, and tradition of its residents. Along the way, you can explore some museums, Buddhist monasteries, and culturally preserved Sherpa villages. Though the glacier moraine EBC does not have views of Mount Everest it instead offers great views of the Khumbu Icefall and its surrounding mountains. Another highlight of Everest trekking is the hike to Kala Patthar or Black Rock, which has the most dramatic view of Mounts Everest, Pumori, Nuptse, and several more peaks. The journey to the EBC begins with the scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla leading to Dudh Kosi Valley along the Sherpa villages. The iconic spiritual prayer rocks and daunting suspension bridges are but few of the numerous occasions you’ll find yourself amazed. Children in the local villages will often rush over to greet you Namaste and so do not forget to give them sweets.
