The 11th edition of Central India’s Largest Agri Summit – “Agrovision” concluded at Nagpur with an overwhelming response. Agrovision was started 11 years ago under the leadership of Union Minister, Shri Nitin Gadkari, Chief Patron, Agrovision to guide the farmers of Central India towards maximum value creation through technological interventions. The theme of 11thAgrovision was “Smart Technologies for Sustainable Development’. The event spectrum included Free workshops for farmers, National Exhibition, Conferences etc. Agrovision was inaugurated at the hands of Shri Nitin Gadkari, Chief Patron, Agrovision, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways; Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India in the presence of senior leaders Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Hon’ble Former Minister for Energy, New & Renewable Energy, GoM, Shri Anil Bonde, Hon’ble Former. Minister of Agriculture, Maharashtra, Shri Sandeep Joshi, Mayor, Nagpur, Dr. C. D. Mayee, Chairman, Advisory

Workshops are the special feature of Agrovision with an objective to Educate, Encourage and Empower the Farmers. With an aim to familiarize farmers with the latest trends & technologies that inuence agriculture today, 30 workshops were organized on important topics. Some of the topics covered during Workshops were: Bamboo farming, Agri tourism, Workshop by Bombay stock exchange on – Exchange of Agri Commodities, Turmeric farming. Agri Finance, Organic farming, Cotton Farming and success stories on Lemon, Drumstick, Berries, Sugarcane, Netshed, Greenhouse, Floriculture, Livestock – Dairy Poultry, Fisheries, Goat Farming, Sericulture, Bee Keeping etc.

Workshops were addressed by over 60 experts from agriculture field. The workshops

were attended by around 60,000 farmers. The topics were selected under the guidance of Dr. C.D. Mayee, Chairman, Agrovision - Advisory Council and Former Chairman of ASRB (ICAR) and other Advisory Council Members. The topics were selected considering the requirements of agriculture and farming community from Central India.

NATIONAL EXPO

The grand national Expo was the stellar attraction at Agrovision. The expo received an exceptional response as it was visited by lakhs of

farmers from Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and other states. Over 400 medium and small

enterprises and well known companies from agri field exhibited their products and services in the Expo. Grass root level innovators were

added attraction for the visiting farmers. The participants displayed their research, innovative techniques, products, services etc. For the first

time, there was a MSME pavilion with over 40 stalls and a separate stall of MSME to share information about the schemes under Ministry of

MSME.

Some of the States who displayed their initiatives in agriculture were UP, Punjab, Goa, Maharashtra and Telangana. The Ministry of

Information and Broadcasting shared the initiatives of government like Swach Bharat Abhiyan,Ujala, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana

(PMKVY) etc. The special Pavilion of Animal Husbandry which encompassed Live demo of various breeds of animals, various species of cow,

bullocks, goats attracted large number of farmers. Stalls of ladies self help groups making tasty food items were ooded with the visitors.

Lakhs of farmers got incredible exposure by witnessing new products, services, technologies, irrigation systems, input, output, equipment

etc.

CONFERENCES

As a part of Agrovision, a Conference on 'Dairy Development & Milk

Processing in Vidarbha' was organized on 23rd November, 2019.

Hon'ble Shri.Giriraj Singh, Minister of Animal Husbandry, Dairying

and Fisheries, Govt. of India inaugurated the conference and it was

presided over by Shri. Dilip Rath, IAS, Chairman, National Dairy

Development Board (NDDB). The Conference was a grand success as

more than 2000 farmers attended the program. These sessions were

addressed by experts in the field of Dairy Management. It was a

platform for discussions among top industry and R&D leaders on the

various opportunities and challenges in Dairy and the steps to

overcome them. The participants learnt about production,

processing, breeding & management, marketing and use of dairy

products and develop a broader understanding of Dairy industry and

other selected areas.

A conference on 'Opportunities for MSME's in Agriculture & Food

Processing in Vidarbha was organized on 24th November, 2019. The

conference was organized with the support of Ministry of MSME and

it received an excellent response.

While addressing the conference, Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union

Minister stressed that forest-based processing industrial units of

honey, fruits, herbs and related vegetation would bring employment

opportunities to tribal community and farmers, leading to prosperity

of villages.

The top industry leaders deliberated on the various opportunities and

challenges for MSME's, various schemes for promotion and

development of entrepreneurs, Opportunities in Food Processing, Promoting Food Processing through Food Park Concept etc.
