GAMES WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT The European Games is an international multi- sport event in the Olympic tradition contested by athletes from 52 European nations. The Games governed by the European Olympic Committees (EOC). The 2015 European Games, the first edition of the event, took place in Baku, Azerbaijan in June 2015. Further editions are planned every four years thereafter. Sector – Public http://www.baku2015.com Initially, consulting required analysis of the Azerbaijan Labour Markets intelligence drawing on official statistics and an extensive review of the relevant literature. Additionally the following activity was undertaken: Demand planning, process modelling, workforce skills gap analysis Establish effective Compensation & Benefits administration systems: - Job analysis (thoroughly analyse and describe each job of workforce) - Job pricing (establish rate ranges; minimum, mid-point, and maximum values for each labour grade) Identifying and Selecting HR Operations Technology Source and implement an automated, integrated ATS and Workforce Management System Design Employment Marketing Brand (EVP) including Career Site Scope creation and operation of Games Academy Scope Outplacement Services BAKU 2015 EUROPEAN GAMES AZERBAIJAN May 2013 – July 2014 SYDNEY 2000 OLYMPIC GAMES AUSTRALIA March 2000 – September 2000 The 2000 Summer Olympic Games were an international multi-sport event, where teams from 199 countries participated. The 2000 Paralympic Games Over 3800 athletes took part in the 11-day international competition programme. They were the 2nd largest sporting event ever held in Australia. Sector – Public https://www.obs.tv/ https://www.olympic.org/ Human Resources Manager The International Broadcast Centre (IBC) is a temporary hub for broadcasters during major sport events. An IBC is created at every Olympic Games. Broadcasters from around the world build studios in what is generally a large conference centre. The Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) operations centre was located within the IBC and was responsible for coordinating all rights holding broadcast operations. Games-Time Staffing Manager The Main Operations Centre (MOC) was the central point of coordination, reporting and where necessary decision making for the staffing aspects of the Games. The Olympics required 40 000 volunteers, and the Paralympics 10 000. Volunteers are considered the ‘face’ of the Games and provide the lion’s share of the work in both the lead up to and the actual Games. The training addressed the location of various services, safety and security, customer relations and chain of command. Orientation Training covers customer service, codes of conduct and expectations of volunteers. Venue training and job-specific training follows. Together,thetwoprogrammesallowedtheGamesAcademytosupportthecreationofalastingcapabilitylegacyinAzerbaijan.TheEuropeanOlympicCommittees(EOC)endorsedtheuniqueinitiative.

TheGraduateExcellenceProgrammesaw199candidates(150fromuniversitiesinAzerbaijanand49fromthecountriesofeachparticipatingNationalOlympicCommittee)havetheopportunitytodeveloptheirtalentstomakethemostoftheirEuropeanGamesexperience.

Theprogrammeincludedthreeweeksofintensivetraining,withparticipantsthengivenrealresponsibilityforplanninganddeliveringtheGamesforuptooneyear,withcoachingandmentoringfrominternationalexpertsaswellasgaininghands-onexperiencewithrolesattesteventsandduringGamestime.
