HARM REDUCTION THERAPEUTIC ACTIVITIESAs a way of reducing harm Bloodwood Tree Association has come up with practical strategies intended to reduce the negative consequences of high risk behaviours such as over drinking alcohol or drug use. This is a non-judgemental approach and Bloodwood Tree Association’s counsellors are attempting to meet people where they are at with their drinking and drug use. Instead of total abstinence the counsellors support the individuals to minimise the harms caused by drug and alcohol abuse by providing a variety of activities like cooking, artwork, music and dance, watching DVD, storytelling, gardening and sometimes just yarning in a friendly environment and each activity is concluded by a healthy meal.
Sessions are held every Wednesday morning from 8am to 12pm at WAPA MAYA Centre, 14 Forrest Circle in South Hedland. For more informationaboutthisprogrampleasecon-tact Salome Mbenjele on 9138 0300 or email [email protected]

Young EinsteinDate: Friday 14 February 2014 Time: 6.30pm Cost: Free Rated: PG
Yahoo Serious plays Albert Einstein, a Tasmanian growing up on an apple farm where he spends most of his time listening to music and thinking about the universe. Albert comes up with a scientific theory every action has an equal and opposite reaction. To further his scientific prowess with his newly discovered formula, the government approaches him and asks him for the formula which he agrees to hand over. Marie (a French Nobel Prize winner of physics) questions his decision but he innocently states, if you can’t trust the governments who can you trust?
