We Serve !

Dear Guests, On behalf of the Membership of our Lions Club I would like to thank you for attending our first “Evening of Song” concert event tonight here at the Hotel Keadeen. Tonight we are all in for a musical treat from local Soprano Celine Byrne and her guests Dearbhla Brosnan, Nicole Hudson & David Martin! Our Lions Club was chartered here at the Hotel Keadeen thirty years ago in 1976. Our fundraising activities during this past year were varied with over €45,000 nett funds successfully generated and distributed to charities ranging from local schools, respite care centres, special needs groups, in Kildare & to Charities as far away as Tanzania & the Lebanon. The proceeds of this event tonight will be donated to the Jack and Jill Children's foundation which I am sure you will agree is an organisation that does tremendous good respite work helping families whose infants have very special needs. Tonight at the concert interval we will be holding a Charity Raffle which I hope you will support by entering. The prizes at the raffle have been generously sponsored by Hugh Statham Ltd of Naas and by Lily O’Briens Chocolates Ltd, Newbridge. On behalf of the Lions Club I wish to thank Mr William Doyle of Newbridge Silverware Ltd who generously sponsored this event and also the Concert Committee & Club Membership who have worked so hard to promote it. Our Lions Club mission is to serve the community & I would ask you to continue to support our Club in the various activities that we run throughout the year & to join us in making them both en-joyable and successful! Wishing you all a wonderful Evening of Song!

The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation is a registered charity set up to help alleviate the pressures on fami-lies of babies and children (up to age 4) with severe developmental delay and life limiting conditions re-quiring extensive medical and nursing care at home.

For example some children may be blind or deaf, they may never be able to walk or talk, some may not even be able to swallow. They may just cry…and cry…and cry for days on end.

We support the families both emotionally and finan-cially thus helping to provide the best quality of life for the child and the whole family. By attending the concert tonight you are helping us to achieve our goal of helping the 260 families cur-rently under our wing and for that we are very grate-ful to you. We would also like to sincerely thank the Newbridge Kildare Lions Club and Celine Byrne for their support. I hope that everyone enjoys what I am sure will be a wonderful nights entertainment. Yours sincerely
