THE UEMS LOGBOOK HAS BEEN CAREFULLY DONE TO HARMONISE TRAINING IN EUROPE. IT ALSO CONTAINS THE SYLLABUS USED FOR THE EXAM. ALL TOPICS IN LOGBOOK ARE USED TO WRITE EXAM QUESTIONS AND IS THE KNOWLEDGE ALL CANDIDATES SHOULD AIM FOR.

• City/ Country where the exam is taking place

• Financial level of the country where the candidate comes from

• Usefulness of the diploma for the future of the candidate

• How fair, easy and esteemed the diploma is, compared to similar others


HOW TO INCREASE THE MOTIVATION FOR PARTICIPATION OF MORE EUROPEAN CANDIDATES

• Asking the national societies to persuade the committees responsible for doctors’ employment that EBE diploma is an important qualification

• As a first step to achieve this goal is to officially accept the EBE diploma as equal to the national one

• To standardize the level of the exam and to increase its reputation in order to become a well esteemed worldwide qualification (this needs time, continuous evaluation, effort and dedication)

• At least five years clinical experience after receiving thetitle of specialist of ENT at a European EU country orFellow of the European Board of ORL-HNS

• Experience in training, teaching and examining in ORL-HNS

• Submission of 3 guided questions and 5 MCQ to beevaluated by the EBE.

• Competency at spoken ‘Medical’ English• Evidence of continuing professional development e.g.

publications/presentations• No more than 3 years after retirement from active

medical practice• Final decision will be at the discretion of the Board

Information and Introduction

WILL ACT AS OBSERVER FOR THE FIRST THREE ROUNDS DURING HIS

FIRST EXAM

WILL EXAMIN THE NEXT THREE ROUNDS WITH A MENTOR WHO WILL

ASSESS IN SITU THE APPLICANT´S PERFORMANCE

If the REPORT FROM MENTOR is POSITIVE, APPLICANT WILL BE
